Artayuasca: Express Yourself!

On Saturday 20 April, I’m organizing a ceremony with the grandmother medicine & Art.
This is going to be very different from the highly structured work we do with Mano.
The vision came to me many years ago, when I dreamed of a weeklong retreat in the lush nature of Brazil, where work with Mama Aya would be combined with artistic expression and creation.
In many ancient traditions of working with various plant medicine, the shamans, healers and their family members are often involved in channeling and creating healing art while in trance. The Mexcian Huicholes create colorful embroideries and beadwork with sacred symbols during their Peyote rituals. You may also be familiar with the geometric healing patterns of the Shipibo tribe or the psychedelic art of the Aboriginals to name a few.

Before going for a full retreat in Brasil, I’ve decided to organize a pilot 1-day ceremony to indulge in creativity and artistic self-expression in a ceremonial setting. In this playground, the medicine is also used to explore possible blockages that may hold us back from expressing freely.

Within the ceremonial setting and the safe space we create to receive the medicine, we will provide paper, colors, clay (to make sculptures) and other creative materials to work with. You are free to explore on your own or be guided by our facilitators.
Meru will be guiding a meditation, movement and painting hour dedicated to meeting a power & beauty animal with qualities that will help your healing and growth in this moment in your life.
Genevieve will facilitate a mini workshop on self-expression through voice and movement exploration.
Our live musicians will be there also to assist throughout the day and to sing together and open up our voices.
It will be a playful day where you are invited to follow your joy, sing, dance, paint, and express yourself in creative (and harmonious) ways. You are in no way obliged or expected to ‘create’ something. The medicine will be your very individual guide. If the medicine wants you in a different process, that is absolutely fine. The ceremony is the backbone throughout the day. However bear in mind, that this ceremony will be more (inter-) active than a regular ceremony.

We have only 10 spots available and are asking a friendly price as energy exchange since it is our (first) try-out. We already have quite a few pre-reservations so don’t wait too long to make your booking if you’d like to join us on this adventure!

The location has a peaceful garden which can be enjoyed throughout the ceremony

Food & Drinks
Throughout the ceremony only water, tea and some fruit is available. After the ceremony we will have a simple and delicious vegan meal

The ceremony will be accompanied by live medicine music
