Ragas at Sunset | 2 Classical Indian Sitar performances with Anand Kumar Mishra

You are invited to come, listen and experience as Anand Mishra will perform and demonstrate 2 unique "Sandhi Prakash" (twilight) ragas.  One before, and the second after sunset.   

Depending on the mood and the feeling of this event Anand will decide what to play depending on how his feelings unfold.  To compliment both performances he will introduce and answer any questions we may have about Sandhi Prakash ragas, and why he will have chosen to play a particular raga for this transition.

Timed to coincide with the coming on of the setting sun and the approaching of the night,  we hope you will be able to enjoy both performances. There will be distinctively Indian take on this transition of time.  Naturally, as with the certainty of the Sun-"setting", punctuality is important!  Please do not interrupt the concentration of our visiting artist.

A choice of Vegetarian and Vegan snacks, Tea and/or Indian Chai is included in the cost of the entry ticket. Snacks and drinks are served before both performances.

Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Our performer teachers from Varanasi

Dr. Anand Kumar (Ph.D. in Sitar) and Annupriya (Master's in Vocal)

Anand Ji is a very renowned Sitar player in India and travels throughout  India and the world giving Sitar recitals. His father was one of the most famous tabla players of his era.  Their family is the  center of  Varanasi music culture, the Benares Gharana. (A school of music that came out of the courts of the Maharajas, the kings of old  pre colonized India. Both Annu and Anand have fascinating histories to explain.
