Over dit evenement
When we relate to each other, it is inevitable that we will cause harm - this is simply a part of being human, being messy, and being conditioned by the societies we are parts of. Making mistakes is scary, Causing harm is painful. how Can we transform moments of pain into moments of closeness?
In this workshop, we use open discussions and guided exercises to dive deeper into an exploration of the mechanisms that are activated within us when we cause harm. how can we be safe people when receiving feedback? how do we imagine accountability? and how can we forgive ourselves when we behave in imperfect and harmful ways?
We are carson and Ella. In our workshops, we dive deep into the nuances of consent through social relationships and create space for self exploration, providing embodied experiences to imagine new ways of relating.
carson (they/them, Amsterdam based):
carson is dedicated to making space to question our systems and trying to build resilience, community care and solidarity into the every day. Growing up in a polyamorous family and eagerly devouring all the critical theory they can get their hands on, their focus is in the unification of the political and the personal work, recognizing one cannot exist without the other. As the old slogan goes, the personal is indeed political - but the political is personal too!
Ella (they/them, Berlin based):
Ella is a bubbly and radically kind intimacy activist. They have fine tuned their ability to create safety and space in their workshops so that the societal armor can be left at the door. They love to play with words and are able to convey complex theory in simple, easy to grasp language. Their humor allows for playful engagement with heavy topics while always holding space for the depth of emotions.
