Platonic Intimacy: A Community Building Toolkit

Community is hard to come by these days. in much of neoliberal and colonial culture, we are asked to hyper-individualize, and reserve the majority of our love, affection and intimacy for our romantic partnerships. But what does a world look like in which we begin to break down these assumptions and structures?

You will be invited, through open discussions and a series of guided exercises, to think about a few key questions: how can we foster consent- and touch-based connection in our friendships? How can we really show up and be present for each other? And what do we dream of when we dream of community?

We are carson and Ella. In our workshops, we dive deep into the nuances of consent through social relationships and create space for self exploration, providing embodied experiences to imagine new ways of relating.

This is an Ella only event!

Ella (they/them, Berlin based):
Ella is a bubbly and radically kind intimacy activist. They have fine tuned their ability to create safety and space in their workshops so that the societal armor can be left at the door. They love to play with words and are able to convey complex theory in simple, easy to grasp language. Their humor allows for playful engagement with heavy topics while always holding space for the depth of emotions.

We recommend you eat a nice meal before coming. We will have many breaks throughout the day :)
