Ashtanga vinyasa yoga is a deep profound system; basically yoga philosophy manifested on the yoga mat. There are 4 main fundamentals practiced along the asana: ujjayi breath, drishti (gaze), bandhas (energetic seals) and vinyasa as a sacred space for our practice.

Ashtanga vinyasa yoga, as we know it nowadays, is a set sequence of asanas, always repeated in the same order. Always with a different experience.

Some consider this practice one of the most challenging sequences; there is many intermediate to advanced postures m; and that’s where the magic happens - can we practice without attachment to the outcome? Can practice without acceptance to where our body is today? Can we feel content no matter how are practice goes? Be patient, compassionate and grateful even if the practice challenges us?

For past 6 months, Nica was teaching 200 & 300hrs ashtanga vinyasa, vinyasa flow and yin yoga teacher trainings in India and Spain. In this 90’ led primary series class, Nica will guide everyone through; no matter if you are new or already have established practice. There is many modifications, variations, props and hands on assist how to get through this sequence.

We will bring a bit of modern approach into this traditional deep system; let’s move with the rhythm of music, experiencing what the body is capable of, letting the magic of yoga IN!

In regular drop-in classes, there is not much time to focus on alignment and proper explanation of asanas itself.

Nica is teaching yoga for past decade with more than 1000+ hours of certified trainings, for past 6 months training also new yoga teachers to become. With her background in thai massage therapy: the approach, quality of touch, directions of assisting and knowledge how to adjust will all translate into this workshop.

We will break down (mainly postures which are mutual for both; ashtanga vinyasa & vinyasa flow) asanas step by step for its better understanding and deepening your practice. We will focus on mechanics of basic asanas like downward facing dog but also drills for jump through, transitioning in ashtanga primary series, feet position in forward folds, correct mechanics of backward bends & much more.

*Suitable for both STUDENTS and TEACHERS are welcome; students will gain better alignment asana understanding, teachers will learn how to assist in those asanas.
