What is Contact Improvation?
Contact improvisation is a dance technique that was introduced in the early seventies by Steve Paxton. Its main issue is the physicality of two or more dancers that move together in contact. It can be a fast and acrobatic dance, or a gentle, quiet and attentive dance. The dance changes all the time and allows the dancers to explore themselves, their body language and the way they are interacting with other people.

About Tom
Tom is a dancer, dance teacher and group facilitator, owner and manager of Sadhana Dance School. He has been teaching and creating dance and movement scores for over 15 years. Tom has co-created together with five other performance artists the dance company “Mono Collective” which was based in Amsterdam and at that period was one of the co-founding people of Ecstatic Dance Amsterdam. Tom holds as well a Master degree in Dance therapy from Codarts university at Rotterdam. In the last years alongside the weekly classes, Tom facilitates movement and personal development week workshops and retreats in Europe.

Doors open: 19:00
Please be there around 19.15, so we can start on time. The doors close at 19.30, then we start in the workshopsspace.

Location: Kanaalweg 84A, Utrecht. You can park your car for free next to the building.
