This 8-week course will provide you with a solid foundation to start or deepen a mindfulness practice that will support more presence, balance and vitality in your Life. The Mindfulness MBSR 8-week program (founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn), blends meditation and Western psychology,.
The training will help you access a greater sense of joy and well-being during the training, and, if you keep up the practice, for the rest of your life!

Location: Studio Babel - Oud West, Amsterdam
Silent Day will be in De Groene Hemel, a green sanctuary in the middle of WesterPark
This course includes all the fundamentals of an MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction) course as well as compassion practices, deep listening exercises and mindfulness outdoors. I have 10+ years experience sharing the practice of mindfulness and holding a safe, intimate space with groups in a diversity of settings. I am also a trained coach, Work that Reconnects facilitator and breathwork coach.
Check with your health insurance for coverage (I am a VMBN trainer category 1 which is higher status recognized by insurers). Note that employers can cover this training.
Note : Reduced rates can be agreed in some circumstances (i.e. students / minimum income / refugees), please reach out if you cannot afford the requested amount.
Below is a non exhaustive list of some of the key skills you will learn in our 8-week course together.
1. Foundations of Mindfulness
- Understanding the basic principles and philosophy of mindfulness : cultivating a mindful mindset for greater resilience, mental health and well-being
- Recognising the importance of being fully present in the moment: improve your self-awareness through attention regulation practices
2. Breath & Body Awareness
- Experience the power of conscious breathing to calm and clear the mind and manage stress.
Body scan & conscious movement practices to enhance body awareness, promote relaxation and restore balance
3. Creating Mindful Moments in Daily Life
- Learn practices and tips to apply mindfulness into your daily life beyond formal meditation
- Integrate moments of mindfulness into your daily routines for increased presence and focus
Dealing with Stress, Persistent Thoughts & Difficult Emotions
- Become aware of your thoughts and emotions without judging, identifying or getting caught up in them
- Deeper understanding of the impact of stress on your mind & body, your stress patterns and limiting beliefs: gain a sense of inner freedom as you move beyond them
- Develop greater emotional resilience : respond more consciously to stressful situations
4. (self-)Compassion
- Practice self-compassion and extending compassion to others : explore the power of compassion in cultivating a peaceful and joyful mindset
5. Mindful Communication
- Explore the role of mindfulness and authentic relating in relationships and communication
6. Deepening through Inquiry & Community Sharing
- Sharing as a group insights and learnings gained throughout the program, deepening through inquiry and guidance
- Creating a sustainable and ongoing mindfulness practice beyond the 8-weeks
