We are a community of young people practicing the living art of Mindfulness.
Wake Up is a community of young people (18-39ish) practicing the living art of Mindfulness. Throughout the country we have various groups ('sanghas') coming together on a regular basis. We also organise all kinds of retreats and other events. Together we meditate, move, share, sing, dance and connect. The vibe is open, gentle, happy and playful. Want to join? You are very welcome. 🙏
Plum Village
We are part of the Plum Village tradition, founded by peace activist and zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. He started Plum Village in 1982 as a small, rustic farmstead, and which has grown today into Europe's largest Buddhist monastery. It has become a worldwide movement to cultivate happiness and contribute to building a healthier and more compassionate society. It is a zen-buddhist tradition, but people from all backgrounds are welcomed, buddhists and non-buddhists alike.
Wake Up
Wake Up was founded in 2008 especially for young people and now has practicing groups all over the world. In the Netherlands we currently have more than 10 local sanghas. We organise various retreats like our well-known Summer Retreat and the New Years Retreat. Other events are also being organised, like mindfulness days, singing circles, beach days, hikes, and more.
We are a non-profit movement. Everything is organised as a co-creation by volunteers in their free time. This makes our events very accessible and we can offer them for free, or at a cost price.
