Over dit evenement
EVEN HELEMAAL NIETS
Even niets hoeven is zeldzaam geworden.
OVER ROGER SPEES
NOTHING TO DO. JUST LISTEN.

A MOMENT OF NOTHING
Having nothing to do has become a rare thing.
Most of us are switched on all day. Messages, screens, appointments and information are constantly asking for our attention. Even when there is nothing we need to do, we often find ourselves reaching for our phones.
Lazy Pianos is a moment to step away from all of that.
You arrive, switch off your phone and leave the screens behind. Find your place and make yourself comfortable on your own mat or small mattress, with a pillow and perhaps a blanket. There is nothing you need to look at, nothing you need to follow, and you don't even have to sit upright.
You can simply lie down and listen.
MUSIC CREATED IN THE MOMENT
Lazy Pianos is a concert without a setlist.
Roger Spees plays live and completely improvised. The music is created right there in the moment, in interaction with the space and the people who are present.
The piano is at the heart of the music, accompanied by synthesizers and other acoustic instruments. The music can be small and still, and at other moments warm, spacious or powerful.
No two Lazy Pianos concerts are ever the same.
ABOUT ROGER SPEES
Roger Spees has been playing piano and other instruments entirely by ear for more than 25 years. Improvisation and intuitive music-making have always been at the heart of his work.
Around ten years ago, he created Lazy Pianos: a concert where, instead of sitting in a chair and watching a stage for two hours, you can lie down and listen to music as it comes into existence.
Each Lazy Pianos concert happens only once. What you hear that afternoon will never sound exactly the same again.
NOTHING TO DO. JUST LISTEN.
For two hours, the outside world can stay outside.
You can listen to every note, let your thoughts wander, close your eyes and forget where you are, or perhaps even fall asleep for a while.
It's all fine.
There is nothing you need to get out of the concert. You only need to be there.
