Hello Zen Zoukies!💚

We are back with a ZJZ experience after Dutch Zouk Congress and because it is also ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) we wanted to create something a little different...
While the city is buzzing with beats, clubs and stimulation, we’re creating a space to slow down, soften and listen.
We’re inviting a sound artist to create an atmospheric sonic landscape for our Ambient Flow Warm-Up.

✨ 1 hour AMBIENT FLOW WARM-UP 2-3pm✨
This time, we’re taking you on a soft journey before we start the zouk social.
We’ve discovered that the quality and yumminess of dancing zouk has a lot to do with two nervous systems meeting and not only two people knowing the technique perfectly and some sensitive systems need more time to arrive than others!
So what happens if we first take the time to arrive together?
It will be a dreamy, embodied journey with elements from yoga, qi gong, breathwork, slow spirals and waves designed to soften the spine, open the body and gently tune into your nervous system.
The intention is not to learn more technique but to arrive first before we dance together.

We go from sound → to breath → to movement →to connection → to start zouk

✨ 3 hours ZOUK SOCIAL 3-6pm ✨
After the warm up we begin with the Zouk social with sets from Dj Milada and Dj Zensy. This time we’re moving on less lyrical music and more cinematic, dreamy soundscapes with more instruments and emotional textures.

WHAT IS ZOUK? Brazilian Zouk is a modern and versatile couple dance characterized by smooth/flowy body movements. There is plenty of room for improvisation and you can dance it on almost all music. Zouk is a social dance, this means that we don’t need a fixed dance partner and we can dance with everyone.

For this event it is recommended to have a basic level of Zouk.

💫 Important: We start strictly at 14:00 and doors close after!
Doors open at 13:30.
We’d love for everyone to join from the beginning so we can experience the journey together as one group, rather than people arriving throughout the day.
