That one is harder, and easy to keep postponing. Partly because there's no deadline. Partly because the honest answer might be inconvenient.

Most career advice starts from the outside — what's available, what's sensible, what looks right from a distance. That reliably produces a plan you can defend and don't particularly want.

This evening starts somewhere else. What do you actually want from your work and your life, underneath what you think you should want? Where did those two quietly swap places? And then the part that matters: what does that mean for the choices sitting in front of you right now?

You go home with a clearer sense of direction and one decision you've stopped putting off.
