Over dit evenement
***House of the beloved***
House of the Beloved (HotB) can be understood as a minoritarian monastery in the Deleuzian sense: not a retreat from the world, but a site where alternative modes of subjectivity are continuously produced. The monastery is organized around dynamic processes of self-transformation, where truth is not possessed but questioned and enacted, and freedom is not granted but practiced.
***Minoritarian***
In Deleuze’s terms, HotB is not a “majoritarian” institution that seeks recognition, stability, or moral authority. It is minoritarian: it creates conditions for becoming-other within the dominant order. Its ethos of “being different together” resists fascism not by opposing it symmetrically, but by dissolving the very psychic and relational structures on which fascism feeds—rigid identity, fear of difference, projection, and the fetishization of authority.
Through embodied practices of presence, inquiry, devotion, and relational experimentation, the monastery cultivates subjects who are capable of holding contradiction, ambiguity, and vulnerability without collapsing into violence or dogma.
***Thinktank***
Ready to join us? Welcome to an evening of reflection on fascism in society and within ourselves. Through reading, listening, and conversation, we'll explore what embodied activism can look like and how we can stand together against polarization.
The structure we propose in our gatherings consists of 3 pillars:
a) intellectual sharpness,
b) (emotional) self-insight and
c) activism.
Firstly, we practice intellectual sharpness through Erotic Thinking, to understand what fascism is and how it shows up in the world.
Secondly (thematic) Authentic Presence will help us to recognize in ourselves and others the vulnerabilities and dynamics that enable fascism.
From these practices, lastly, will emerge insights on where and how to self-organize anti-fascist activities grounded in the intuitions of House of the Beloved.

** READINGS**
Accessible suggested readings will be announced shortly! Let’s meet in person at House of the Beloved on the 22nd of October and the 25th of November to dialogue, connect and resist together, but most of all to be free in expressing our own way of being human as an act of rebellion.
See you then.
With loving and rebellious greetings,
Joshua, Jordi and Stijn
