🧉 🌙 Maté Nacht | Art Café
3 October 2026 | Younity Utrecht
13:00 – 23:00
Maté Nacht is a monthly gathering where art, culture, and human connection come together in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Inspired by the ritual of sharing maté, the programme invites visitors to explore, create, move, eat, listen, perform, and connect throughout the day.
This October edition brings together Arabic literature, fashion and scent, experimental visual art, movement and performance, shared food, Syrian hip-hop, an open stage, and conversations around maté.
Everyone is welcome. Maté Nacht is a drug-free and alcohol-free event.
✨ The Program
👕 13:30 – 23:00 | Showcase | NFTS – Next Fashion, Timeless Scent | ALADaM / NFTStore
Discover a creative world where fashion, scent, art, and digital technology come together.
NFTS presents handcrafted fashion, T-shirts, niche perfumes, and NFT-powered collectibles in a continuous showcase throughout the day.
Explore the collections, discover the ideas behind the brand, and experience an intersection of style, identity, craftsmanship, and digital authenticity.
🎨 14:00 – 16:30 | Workshop | Creating in the Klieder | Sterre Rosmalen
Let go of the idea of making something “beautiful” or “perfect” and explore a playful way of creating.
Experiment with shapes, textures, colours, and simple materials in an open and relaxed atmosphere.
Paper, paint, chalk, markers, and other materials are available. Come to sketch, experiment, play, or simply follow your curiosity without rules.
🎭 16:30 – 17:00 | Workshop | Mixed Performance Arts & JAM Session | Damir Boeren
Let go of fixed artistic forms and discover new ways of expression through movement, sound, and interaction.
Participants are invited to experiment intuitively and create together beyond traditional artistic boundaries.
After the workshop, the session moves into an open instant-composition jam, where spontaneous performances emerge from the moment.
No experience is required — curiosity is enough.
🫓 17:00 – 18:30 | Shared Table | Aida Kitchen
Take a seat and enjoy homemade Syrian and Lebanese dishes prepared by Aida Alayek of Aida Kitchen.
A warm moment to eat together, meet new people, and allow conversations from the afternoon to continue in an open and relaxed atmosphere.
The Shared Table creates a natural pause between the workshops of the afternoon and the performances of the evening.
🎤 19:00 – 20:30 | Hip-Hop Showcase | Syrian Bars | El Alqam, El.Mohes, Eddy & J3ro
Four Syrian rappers, four distinct voices, one stage.
Syrian Bars brings together El Alqam, El.Mohes, Eddy, and J3ro for a 90-minute hip-hop showcase combining old-school and new-school approaches, different sounds, flows, and perspectives.
Their music explores identity, displacement, politics, social realities, and different aspects of everyday life through rap.
An evening performance where different styles and voices within Syrian hip-hop meet on one stage.
🎙️ 20:30 – 21:30 | Open Stage | Open Podium
Music, poetry, dance, spoken word, a personal story, improvisation, or a short performance — if you would like to share something, this is your space.
After Syrian Bars, the stage opens to visitors, artists, and spontaneous contributions.
The Open Podium is a judgement-free environment where finished work is not required.
Come with an idea, an experiment, something still in development, or simply the courage to step forward and share.
🧉 20:30 – 23:00 | Drinking Maté | Exchange of Inspiration
Close the evening together with maté, conversations, and spontaneous encounters.
Meet the artists behind the programme, exchange thoughts, reflect on what you experienced throughout the day, or simply stay and listen.
An open space for connection, reflection, new stories, ideas, and collaborations that may emerge naturally.
The evening does not end with a formal closing moment. It slowly moves into conversation, shared maté, and human connection.
