Ancestral Medicines & Teachings Retreat (Mexico)

This year we’ll hold the third edition of our Ancestral Medicines & Teachings retreat, which is taking place from November 30 to December 9 in Tepoztlán, Mexico. We invite you to join us, with elders Tata Juvenal (Mexico), Kike Pinto (Peru) and Mano Churuwia (Mexico).

This retreat is for individuals, guides, or therapists who already have sat with the sacred plants and want to learn more about the original traditions that preserve them. The group size will be of about 15 participants. Our goal is to share essential teachings passed down to us through our lineages and with support of the teacher plants and ceremonies provide you with tools and a deeper understanding of healing, tradition and sacred practices—whether for your own process or to better support others.

We’ll be embarking on an immersive 10-day journey with ceremonies and workshops focused on original traditions and sacred medicinal plants, where you’ll be guided by esteemed elders tata Juvenal (Mexico) and Kike Pinto (Peru), with their wives Ana and Lourdes, and Mano Churuwia (Mexico). Also other guides, artists, handcrafters and therapists will participate, and unconfirmed but very probable, we’ll also have medicine, rapé and songs of the Noke Koi (Brasil) tradition.

The program includes 3 to 4 medicine ceremonies: Wilka, Peyote, Aya, (Kambó tbc), and Temazcal (sweatlodge) ritual, with workshops about tradition, crafting a hand-drum or a dreamcatcher, learning songs or a traditional instrument, a hike bringing an offering to the mountains of Tepoztlan, a day long swim in natural springs with waterfalls, and opportunities for therapy, integration and of course to rest.
