Over dit evenement
Spend time outdoors in a way that is both educational and nourishing. This guided Medicine & Wild Foraging Walk invites parents and children to slow down, explore together, and learn directly from the living landscape around them. Through simple exercises, shared discovery, and gentle guidance, nature becomes a classroom, a playground, and a place of connection at the same time.
You will learn and experience:
🌿 Recognise wild plants and herbs
You will learn how to notice distinguishing features of common local plants — their leaves, scents, shapes, and habitats — and begin building confidence in identifying them in the wild.
🍃 Understand plant uses
We explore traditional and everyday uses of plants, such as teas, flavours, and basic herbal applications. The focus is on practical, safe, and accessible knowledge you can remember and apply.
🤝 Learn side-by-side
Parents and children discover together. Asking questions, comparing observations, and sharing small discoveries creates a natural learning dynamic that feels playful rather than instructional while strengthening confidence outdoors.
Learning to recognise plants and observe nature sharpens concentration and memory, and doing this together as a parent and child strengthens communication and trust through shared discovery. You create an active, memorable experience that supports emotional well-being, curiosity, and a lasting sense of connection to the natural world.
No prior experience with plants, herbs, or foraging is needed — curiosity and openness are enough.
Who this is for:
Adults and children aged 10 and up. This walk encourages learning together, bonding through discovery, and building confidence in nature.
Practical details:
- One ticket covers one parent + one child.
- We meet just outside Gronsveld, at the edge of the Savelbos (exact location shared after registration).
Space is limited to 6 pairs to ensure personal attention and support.
🌿 About the Guide
This gathering is guided by Veronika — mother, nature explorer, gardener, teacher, and facilitator. After a decade working in public advisory roles and sustainability, she chose to redirect her path toward hands-on, nature-based learning and regenerative ways of living.
In her daily life she explores questions such as:
How do I experience myself as part of nature? How can I support others in experiencing this too? How can my talents contribute to care for all forms of life?
Today, Veronika teaches in higher education programs focused on leadership and development, and she facilitates walks, learning sessions, moments of creativity, and — in the future — retreats. Her work creates spaces where people slow down, pay attention, and rediscover their relationship with the natural world.
She draws from practices rooted in Eastern traditions, including Buddhism, Taoism, and forest bathing. As a certified forest-bathing guide, she uses methods that cultivate sensory awareness and holistic perception. Insights arise naturally through direct experience.
Veronika is an herbalist in training (Herbal Academy) and a member of the Lunar Living Sisterhood of Kirsty Gallagher, where she deepens her knowledge of plant wisdom, cyclical living, and natural rhythms.
