Peia & Robot Koch: An Immersive Ambient Folk Sound Journey
(followed by a set of songs with the full band)
Renowned song collector and folk artist Peia Luzzi joins forces with award-winning composer and sonic innovator Robot Koch for a unique ambient folk sound journey—a fusion of ancient song and ethereal soundscapes, weaving tradition and innovation into a deeply immersive experience. The soundjourney is followed by a set of songs with the full band.
With a voice that moves effortlessly through centuries-old Irish laments, Bulgarian mountain calls, and timeless folk ballads, Peia carries the ancestral songs of her lineage with reverence and grace. Accompanied by Peter Klaassen (double bass) and Liron Meyuhas (percussion), her performances are known for their hypnotic rhythms, soaring vocals, and organic beauty.
Robot Koch, celebrated for his cinematic compositions that bridge electronic, ambient, and modern classical music, brings his expertise in immersive sound design and spatial audio to this collaboration. His music has been featured in films, television, and clinical trials on psychedelic therapy, and he has performed at major festivals like Coachella, Mutek, and Sonar. His live performances are transformative sound journeys, guiding listeners into expanded states of awareness.
Together, Peia and Robot Koch create a sonic tapestry where tradition meets the future, blending raw, acoustic folk melodies with expansive, otherworldly soundscapes. This is more than a concert—it’s a ritual of sound and presence, a rare meeting of ancient voices and contemporary sound design, inviting the audience into a space of deep listening and connection.
27 June Workshop Voice of the Ancients with Peia
Each one of us is gifted with a uniquely beautiful voice and lineage of song. Discover your true voice through an embodied practice, engaging natural breath and resonance techniques guided by Peia. Learn to harness the power of your breath, deepen and expand your breath capacity and sing from your core. Unlock the natural resonance of your voice and learn to direct sound, and move it through the body as well as the room. Working with tools from the ancient Indian alchemy of Raga we will enter a deeply meditative practice known as ‘The Yoga of Sound.’ We also gain deeper understanding of the physical workings of the voice from Vocal Pedagogy (the science of the voice) and learn to sing with grace, power, flexibility and ease.
During our time together we will explore:
• Somatic & Embodiment tools to unblock both the singing and speaking voice & liberate our inherent expression of beauty and vitality.
• Breath meditations and techniques to return to our natural breath cycle, which regulates the nervous system and helps to release trauma stored in the body.
• Practices to cultivate both resonance and volume without taxing or overworking the voice
• Vocal Warm Ups and tools to stretch the vocal range gently
• Vocal Care
• One Song from the Celtic Tradition that will connect us to the rituals and way of life of these ancient people.
Would be great to welcome you on both evenings for a deep dive into sound, sacred songs and voice. CombiTickets available!
