Bhaktifestival 2024

Nine years after we organized our first ever Bhakti Festival, we are delighted and so happy to announce a new edition of this beautiful gathering! Open to all ages, religions and genders, it will be a wonderful celebration of The Divine. The festival will be offered again this year from the 16th to the 18th of August in Babaji’s ashram, in The Netherlands. The program of this three day celebration will most importantly be filled with heart opening kirtan, from great musicians - all sharing their beautiful voices and instruments. In addition to this, there will be lots of yoga, sound baths, amazing food, fire ceremonies and much more! We also offer a separate children’s program with many fun activities.

“Bhakti” yoga will be our main practice during the festival. The Vedanta is one of the world's most ancient spiritual philosophies based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India. This philosophy suggests that the root cause of all of our suffering and pain in life is a forgetfulness and disconnection with our “True Self”. This forgetfulness and disconnection is called “Avidyā” in Sanskrit , which literally translates to “ignorance”. The practice of yoga offers different pathways which dispel these mental impurities. They help lead the way back to the Truth we already know in our hearts as the “Divine Self”. There are four main paths of yoga which you can practice to attain this connection with yourself again:


Karma Yoga (the yoga of action and selfless service)
Rāja Yoga (the yoga of meditation)
Jñāna Yoga (the yoga of will and intellect)
Bhakti Yoga (the yoga of love and devotion)

Traditionally, the core practices of Bhakti include “Kirtan”, a form of devotional chanting, “Japa”, which involves the repetition of mantras and “Devotion to the Divine”, calling in unconditional love to all of creation. While traditional Bhakti often involves concentrating on specific deities or gods to attain this loving state, everyone is welcome to discover a unique belief and path for themselves.The different paths complement and support each other.

The atmosphere at the Bhakti Festival is always filled with a sense of warmth and unity. Everyone is welcomed with open arms, creating a space where differences fade away and hearts resonate with a shared intention of love and spiritual growth. It's always amazing to see how such a sacred environment filled with love can lead to complete strangers connecting to each other in just a few days, much quicker and more easily and so much deeper than would normally be possible in our own daily lives.

Located in the heart of The Netherland’s largest forest, “De Hoge Veluwe National Park”, this festival is the perfect chance to take a break from the business of daily life. Surrounding yourself by nature provides an opportunity to recharge and reconnect with yourself and others. It is also a place to recognize that the divine - with her endless amounts of love - is within each and every one of us.
