A Seasonal Ritual for Couples Who Want to Keep Discovering Each Other

What helps love stay fresh, curious, and alive over time?

Contemporary life gives us endless ways to manage our schedules, raise children, build careers, and organise our lives. Yet very few structures exist to help us actively nurture our relationship.

This ritual was created as an antidote to that drift.

This small, special gathering (for a max of 2 couples) invites you to step out of the momentum of daily life and intentionally turn toward each other.

Through guided reflection with inspiring live music, this ritual weaves meaningful reflection into a beautiful, romantic setting. You will be offered a unique Sacred Union Cup - created by your host- to drink out of together, while toasting your relationship celebrations.

You will also be invited to reconnect with what matters most in your relationship and explore what is ready to grow in the season ahead.

Held for a maximum of 2 couples, this is a beautiful opportunity to feel like you are the artist in your own relationship.

As a conscious couple, you will be supported to be fully present and learn a unique ritual (developed by your hosts over several years) to help support your most important relationship in your life.

You will learn this seasonal ritual, so that you may practice it throughout the year to keep nourishing your relationship.

Together they create a warm and carefully held space where you can slow down, arrive fully, and experience each other beyond the habits and routines of everyday life.

Through gentle guided practices including heart centred meditation and eye gazing, you will be invited to reflect on your relationship, celebrate and honour what you have lived through together in the previous season, and share your desires for the months ahead.

We also explore simple yet powerful communication practices that help create greater understanding, appreciation, and emotional closeness within your relationship. We also do basic voice activation and tuning into our bodies.

Couples often leave feeling more connected, more present with one another, and inspired with practices they can continue bringing into their relationship through the whole year.

The Sacred Union Cup
At the heart of the gathering is the Sacred Union Cup, a handmade ceramic vessel invented by artist Julia Mandle. Designed for two people to share, the cup symbolises two individuals meeting in a common space of intention, presence, and devotion. The Sacred Union Cup is often given as a wedding or commitment gift to couples.

Together you will drink a seasonal elixir prepared to reflect the qualities of the current season in nature. What might otherwise be an ordinary sip becomes a simple yet meaningful ritual—a moment to pause, acknowledge one another, and consciously nourish the relationship you are creating together.

The form of the Sacred Union Cup has evolved over 15 years and is now used in weddings, anniversaries, and relationship rituals as a lasting symbol of partnership and shared commitment.

Live Music
The experience is supported throughout by the live music of Prem Deep. Blending meditative acoustic instruments such as shakuhachi and Native American flutes with subtle electronic soundscapes, his music creates an atmosphere that encourages relaxation, presence, and connection.

Inspired by years of travel, ocean sailing, and time spent living among island communities where life moved at a slower rhythm, his music gently invites couples to step out of the noise of modern life and into the richness of the present moment.

A Seasonal Practice
The gathering begins in our intimate atelier and temple space, beside the studio where the Sacred Union Cups are created, and extends into a peaceful circular garden "Garden of Life" on IJburg, surrounded by nature and a circle of flowering trees.

The changing seasons provide a gentle framework for reflection, reminding us that relationships, like gardens, require attention, renewal, and care if they are to flourish.

Your guides for the afternoon are Julia Mandle and Prem Deep, artists, ritualists, and longtime students of conscious relationship.

Their work is inspired by a simple belief:
Love deserves ritual.

For more than a decade they have explored the practices, conversations, and ceremonies that help couples reconnect, repair, celebrate, and remain curious about one another through life's inevitable changes.

This gathering is not simply something they teach—it is a practice they return to themselves with each changing season of their own relationship.
