Over dit evenement
Welcome to Germanic Wellness. Here is where we take a healing journey into North European Shamanism from our Germanic, Celtic, and Nordic Ancestors. To heal many of our modern-day wounds passed on by the generations that came before us. Heal the masculine wound and reconnect more with our true nature and primal essence. Become a more empowered, integrated, grounded man driven by his primal purpose to create, build, provide, and protect.
The Shamanic Nature Walks for Men are not your average “walk in the park” or social hiking group. This is a social gathering for men who feel different. Who perhaps struggle to fit in or relate to our modern-day way of life. Perhaps you have already been labelled with “mental health challenges” such as ADD/ADHD/HSP/Burnout/Depression/Disassociation, etc. You can often feel like a lone wolf in this society. You don’t want to or can’t follow the mainstream. It’s like you can already “look through the veil.”
In a matter of fact, what if ADHD means “Ancestral Development & Healing Dissociation.
So, what is this dissociation we can feel as “lone wolves?”
Let’s say we carry a “memory” in our soul that feels more connected to our hunter-gatherer ancestors. DNA is passed over from generation to generation, which is called epigenetics. Yet, we “evolved” from nomadic hunter/warriors towards a “farmer-based society.” A culture that settled down around the crops during the time of the Neolithic Revolution over 10.000 years ago. This eventually evolved into our modern-day way of life and individualistic culture. A culture that became separated and disconnected from the essence of nature, the cycles of life, the soul in all living beings, and the social tribe. Now, Modern-day Male loneliness is at an all-time high.
Shamanism evolved out of the nature-based spirituality of animism. The first and original form of spirituality of our hunter-gatherer ancestors and tribal communities that came along with the migration of Indo-Europeans. Shamanism became an umbrella word originating from the Siberian language (those who can see) that also found its way through the lands of our Nordic, Celtic, and Germanic ancestors. The original culture of Northwest Europe vanished with the rise of the many global superpowers. Yet, their soul and spirit remain dormant within us, ready to be re-awakened.
The Shamanic Nature Walks for Men is an invitation to join the “Wolf Tribe.” A brotherhood for men who are interested in the practice of Shamanism and our Northwest European heritage. The wolf refers to the spirit animal accessed for healing, instinct, trust, pack, leadership, power, support, and guidance. A lone wolf survives; a pack of wolves thrives.
Also, the power animal refers to various shamanic practices and ceremonies performed by various elite warrior tribes, such as the Ulfhednar and Berserkers, to access different states of consciousness (see the event about the Berserker Awakening). To overcome their fears on the battlefield. Of course, now we are faced with many different battles that play in our mind, body, soul, and spirit.
In essence, this all refers to the initiation process from boyhood to manhood. Something that many men have missed in their upbringing by emotionally absent/abusive parents, a school system that neglects the hyperactivity of young boys, and a (injustice) system that forces men to fit in and conform. Aggression has been labeled as toxic, as there was no valid space for boys to express this, which turned them inwards. The opposite of expression is depression.
Our Nomadic ancestors walked for hours, days, and weeks, and only took with them the necessities to survive through the day. Long-distance hiking can be an essential spiritual practice to reconnect with this essence. Be part of a social tribe, relax, reflect, and grow together. To have more meaningful conversations and connections. To offer a space to each other and explore what it’s like to evolve in modern-day life while maintaining or reconnecting with our primal masculine essence.

The 16.3 KM walk takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, with a couple of breaks, including a short 15-to 20-minute guided meditation.
ABOUT THE WALK:
Fun route between Middelburg and Veere, on towpaths along canals, past old defenses, monumental windmills, and the Veere Creek. Middelburg, an old 8th-century town that formed as a pre-medieval settlement to protect the monastery and its monks against the Viking raids. Obviously, these raids had their purpose to "get rid of the Roman invaders and their modern religion". Middelburg and Veere evolved into wealthy trading towns that harboured the HQ of the Dutch West Indian Compagnie, and a VOC shipbuilding wharf during the 17th century. The essence or the spirit of the land in Zeeland holds a memory of war, commerce, trade, and floods. The motto of the people in Zeeland: I struggle and emerge (ik worstel en kom boven).
Ideal running route or long hiking trail between Middelburg and Veere. The entire first half of the route follows the old Veere tow path, along the Canal through Walcheren. The canal runs as far as Veere and Lake Veere. In Veere, the route passes through the historic town center, past the harbor and an old bastion with a windmill. On the way back, the route runs along the waters of Botjeszee Creek and Veere Creek. The creek turns into the Veerse Watergang, which runs all the way back to Middelburg.
Highlights of this trail:
- Veerse tow path
