All kinds of movers are welcome to attend this dance improvisation workshop. At Impro Dance The Hague we aim to create a safe space to practicet letting go of fixed choreography and allowing the body to speak and move as it wants.

Workshop description

"Bridging Spaces"
Can we allow our senses to help navigate our moving through space? What happens when we allow the particular sense of a place to speak to us? In this workshop we aim to bridge our inner space with the outer space around us. Allowing the flow between these perspectives to inform our movement and creative dancing is what drives this workshop forward.

As always, there will be plenty of time and space to tune in and listen to what your body needs. We guide your awareness to several orientation points while practicing leaning back into what your body wants to do. In this way we hope to offer a playground for discovering new ground in your dancing.

At the end of the afternoon, we co-create pieces (Instant-Compositions) together. By collaborating with others and allowing yourself to be changed by what happens around you, you learn to navigate the shared dancing field. Through this co-creative practice we get to know the space as an everchanging harbour of relationships, stories and geometry.
