An evening with Mac Macartney in de Salon

We zijn ontzettend blij aan te mogen kondigen dat Elder Mac Macartney naar Nederland komt voor de komende Circle of Life. Mac is jarenlang in de leer geweest bij Native Americans en heeft diepe kennis en inzichten opgedaan in vragen die veel mensen bezighouden. Mac moedigt ons aan onszelf te helen en de leider in onszelf te vinden, de leider die onverschrokken in actie komt voor een betere wereld. Hij noemt het de twin trail. Mac weet ons aan de hand van prachtige verhalen op subtiele en liefdevolle wijze te inspireren om onze energie te steken in de essentie van het leven in deze tijd.

Wat kan je verwachten van de cirkel
We verwelkomen je met open armen in de Salon in Ruigoord. Je voelt je ondergedompeld in de weelde van de Salon en de vrijheid die Ruigoord ademt. We eten samen een vegetarische maaltijd. Daarna kun je een plek zoeken in de zaal en start het inhoudelijke programma, dat bestaat uit verschillende onderdelen. De lezing van Mac is in het Engels. Hierna hebben we tijd om elkaar te spreken en te inspireren. Ook Mac is hierbij en kijkt ernaar uit jullie te ontmoeten.

Wisdom and stories by Mac Macartney;
Mac is an international speaker and leadership practitioner with over thirty years’ experience in people and organisation development. Alongside his extensive experience of working with organisations he also founded Embercombe, a social enterprise located in the south west of the UK, which seeks to explore and promote the profound regeneration of land, society, and people.

All of Mac’s work is focused towards the emergence of a just, peaceful, regenerative, and flourishing future for all species. Whether delivering keynotes for business conferences, addressing small or large gatherings at festivals, or mentoring individuals, Mac uses story as the primary means of conveying questions and a way of living that could bring society back to its senses – as Charles Eisenstein once wrote, “the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible”.

Tommy Crawford is a Poet, Shamanic Storyteller and Founder and Creative Director of the International Mischief-Making organisation Dancing Fox. Combining his love for mythology, street art and improv theatre, Tommy works with artists and activists around the world to create “beautiful disruptions” — moments where the wonder of the world can flood in, and the bubbling magic that lives inside each of us can pour out. He has curated and led workshops all over the world and has performed at Into The Wild, Shambala and WOMAD festivals, amongst others, and toured his poetry across the UK, indonesia and New Zealand. His art is inspired by Sufi Mystics, Andean Songlines and the fierce grace and snarling beauty of the British Isles

Indiginous communities all over the world have used drums, rattles and flutes or whistles. Because their cultures were preserved vocally through story telling, arts, dance and music. The indiginous flute dates back 1000s of years. And in a lot of tribes the flute was only played by men. It served as a courting instrument. To win the heart of a woman. There is a difference between the indiginous flute and the Native American flute (most known nowadays). Gijs learned directly from Kevin Locke, hunkpapa Lakota. He was one of the last traditional flute players. The sound of a flute can run deep, a remembrance, it’s in our DNA.

Music by Celine Dewy
Celine loves to hold space for gatherings offering celebration to the earth. She travels between Ibiza, Mexico, Indonesia and Holland with her music, performance art and healing practises.

De mannen van Foodoolounge verzorgen voor ons een heerlijke vegetarische maaltijd. Kenmerkend voor hen is hun energieke stijl, hun liefde voor eten en de verrassende en verfijnde smaak combinaties. Als zij het eten komen opscheppen is het altijd een feestje. Misschien ken je ze wel, want ze zijn op menig event van Ruigoord verantwoordelijk voor het heerlijke eten.
