Calling all curious minds, music nerds, science enthusiasts, neurohackers, magicians, and explorers of consciousness. After 20 sold-out shows across the world and numerous festival appearances, the Museum of Consciousness comes to Maastricht University on the 20th of March.
The Museum of Consciousness features short, audio-based transmissions that induce expansive states of consciousness, stimulating various subjective experiences, including thought experiments, sound journeys, and dream incubations. It is a living embodiment of the collective consciousness with around 100 artists, including Orbital, Jon Hopkins, Lisa Lashes, Tom Middleton and Alexandre Tannous.
This intimate exhibition will include some of the best sound transmissions from the Museum's five-year archive. The goal is to showcase the best functional sound experiments that have been composed for cultivating altered states and altered traits of consciousness in the audience.
The museum's regenerative structure is designed to empower both the original artists and the audiences through a process of Transmission, Feedback and integration:
1. Transmission - A transmission of the sound to the audience.
2. Feedback - The audience communicates their experiences and thoughts following the transmission.
3. Integration - An explainer of the transmission for the audience to understand the piece in more detail.
The event will also serve as a fundraising event for the PsychedeliCare Initiative, which is currently raising one million signatures in order to pave the way for safe, regulated, and accessible psychedelic-assisted therapies across Europe. Half of the money raised from the ticket sales will be donated to the PsychedeliCare Initiative to cover the costs of promotional materials, advertising and other signature collection efforts. Because of this, you may choose a ticket price that suits your budget.
