~ Ecstatic Dance Rotterdam has weekly sessions on Saturday evenings and has been active since October 2014. Always a nice place for everyone who likes free dancing and several well-known DJs in the circuit found their first permanent place here where they could develop themselves. We have a very nice open and close relationship with our regular dancers which creates a safe and cozy space for our new guests.
~ After more than 7 years of dancing in 'Centrum DJOJ' we moved to a very nice larger space in the heart of the city of Rotterdam with a soft (marmoleum) and clean dance floor.
~ Ecstatic Dance is a meditation of dance, light, and community.
A dance full of exploration to free your spirit and celebrate life. It is a unique dance experience where you can fully express yourself in a safe and held space. A space where you can be vulnerable and meet each other in wholeness.
Expressing yourself freely, jumping up and down, going beyond your borders, lying on the ground, meditating, being wild, setting yourself free, and having fun.
Let’s raise our hearts and shine like brilliant stars.
We are the manifestations of light and love.
Ecstatic Dance Guidelines:
Move however you wish.
No talking on the dance floor.
Respect yourself and one another.
Ecstatic Dance is a Drug, Shoe & Alcohol-Free Space.
Please also refrain from photos, videos, shoes & scents.
Ecstatic Dance Rotterdam is not a hunting ground or a tantra club.
Ecstatic Dance Rotterdam is a safe haven for shy and vulnerable people also.
Many people dance in their own space, and others share their space with another.
To engage in a dance with someone, use sensitivity: Are they open to sharing their space with me?
Mirror movements, offer a hand, brush by, make eye contact, and see & feel how they respond…
If you’d rather not dance with someone, or are ending a dance with someone,
simply thank them by placing your hands in prayer at your heart.
