Another Kind of Blue – Contact Improvisation

Another Kind Of Blue staat bekend om prachtige choreografieën gemixt met techniek. Met internationale bekendheid maken we voorstellingen waarin we vliegen met drones, werken met projecties en momenteel ook een VR-ervaring ontwikkelen.

Maar wij geloven dat hoofd en lichaam elkaar nodig hebben. Daarom omarmen we als tegen pool van technologie ook contact improvisatie: een dansvorm waarbij verbinding, het lichaam, spontaniteit, speelsheid en directe interactie centraal staan. In deze nieuwe fase van ons werk moedigen we mensen aan deze danstechniek te leren maar ook om te vertrouwen op hun instinct, te spelen en nieuwe – vaak onverwachte – bewegingsvormen te ontdekken.

Onze Contact Impro Sessions in Den Haag zijn toegankelijk voor alle niveaus: van nieuwsgierige beginners tot ervaren dansers. In een veilige en open sfeer nodigen we je uit om te onderzoeken, te spelen en samen te dansen.

📍 Over de studio
De sessies vinden plaats in onze sfeervolle studio van 14 bij 8 meter, met een professionele dansvloer, een goede geluidsinstallatie, warm licht en een gezellige chillhoek met kussens.
Bij aankomst kom je in een lichte entree waar thee klaarstaat. En op mooie dagen kun je buiten zitten aan de tafel tussen de druivenranken en het appelboompje – een plek waar verbinding vanzelf ontstaat.

📆 We bieden zowel losse lessen als een verdiepende cursus (In-Depth Course). We sluiten het seizoen af met een jam mét live muziek.

But we believe that dance is more than just perfection and technique. That’s why we also embrace contact improvisation: a dance form where connection, spontaneity, playfulness, and direct interaction are at the center. In this new phase of our work, we encourage people not only to learn this technique, but also to trust their instincts, play, experiment and discover new—often unexpected—ways of moving.

Our Contact Impro Sessions in The Hague are open to all levels—from curious beginners to experienced movers. In a welcoming and safe environment, we encourage exploration, connection, and shared movement.

📍 About the Studio
Sessions take place in our beautiful 14 x 8 meter studio, equipped with a professional dance floor, great sound system, atmospheric lighting, and a cozy chill-out corner with cushions.
The entrance area offers space to relax with a cup of tea, and outside, a table under the grapevines and a small apple tree creates the perfect spot to unwind and connect.

📆 We offer both drop-in classes and a more focused In-Depth Course. The season ends with a festive Jam with live music on July 5th.
