It went to Yana's workshop in Nijmegen last Friday. It was my first introduction into embodied impulse play or anything to do with it, so I didn't really know what to expect. In the beginning I was a bit nerveus but before the workshop started. Yana encouraged me before the workshop started to just take time and adjust to the room which is very spacious and comfortable space. This was helpfull. Once the workshop started I just came in this flow and everything felt so natural. Yana builds up the activity's in such a way that the contact is build up step by step, the workforms just work. The most valuable part for me was not so much the touching but the constant selfexploring that comes with it. What does this feel like, what does this to me, do I really want this, do I dare to adjust or say no. That was intense for me and I learned so much from that.
Being present at the workshop feit realy safe to, for you don't have to do anything. There are safespaces and you can just sit and watch or just take time out. After a break the free play time started, made me a bit anxious again in the beginning but it was so precious. I had 4 plays with different people and it was freeing and warm and also challenging, competative, funny and sweet. I felt very much alive and connected. I did one solo-play , a life hack as Yana calls it, and that was quite liberating to do. At the end of the workshop there was plenty of time for integrating, reflecting, sharing and hugging. Yana pays attention to
aftercare and also explains about feelings that might come up the days after and how to deal with them. I was very impressed by the professional aproach and organisation of the event and can only encourage you to attend these workshops. @Yana and team, thank you so much for this amazing evening!
