FreeFlow Ecstatic Dance with DJ Socrates + Breathwork special

A new, fresh ecstatic dance experience has arrived in Utrecht on Sunday mornings! And now with a special edition where we offer the combination of a festive breathwork session before we start dancing.

We are thrilled to have Jaime van der Lugt guiding a 1,5 hrs breath work session to let us connect to our bodies.

Jaime brings his various life experiences to his work as a holistic physiotherapist, level 3 Wim Hof Method instructor, breathing fanatic and movement lover.
Passionate about breathing since 2012, conscious breathing really has shaped his path.
Now travelling all over the world to let people experience the power of their own breathing in a down-to-earth way.

Our fourth edition will again take place in the vibrant and creative energy of Vogelfrei. This beautiful spacious dance floor also has an outdoor roof terrace to offer if you feel like cooling down or grab some sunshine.

In Ecstatic Dance, we go on a musical journey. And we also go on a journey inside. DJ Socrates takes you on a journey to the unknown.
Each set is a unique and epic dance, which arises from a seductive dialogue between dancers and grooves. Built on the character of the place, the whims of the weather and the energy of the audience.
With his kaleidoscopic sound DJ Socrates includes global reggae, tripy cumbia, afro bass, slow rave and oriental acid. And if you are lucky you can hear a mesmerising tin whistle, which DJ Socrates himself weaves live through his set.

Flow freely by expressing yourself through movement in any pure (without substances) and transforming way with respect to the people around you.
The dance space is a phone-free and non-speaking area where we dance without shoes.
Feeling ecstatic is way easier if you know that whatever you do on that dancefloor stays on that dancefloor. That's because we ask to not make any pictures or movies during the dance. We know that times as changing and (new) people love to see what the vibe is at a place. Therefore we as an organisation will make some footage, where we try to do this on a respectful way and with people unrecognizably as much a possible.

9:30 Doors open, change, relax and slowly get to know the space
10:00 Start breathwork session with Jaime van der Lugt
11.30 Opening session with embodiment exercises
11:50 Dance with DJ Socrates
13:50 Live music
14:05 Closing circle
14:10 Chill out with nourishing fruit

Practicalities:
- During the dance there will be water and tea provided (please bring your own bottle)
- Wear comfortable clothing to move freely in
- No refunds or rescheduling possible
- We encourage you to join from the whole experience, please aim to be there on time
- Space holders are present
- Vogelfrei is accessible through the NAR, the gate will be open to access the venue
- For the breathwork session: Bring your own yogamat and a blancket and a cushion if you like.

We are super excited to vibe with you on this new playful adventure. Free Flow will be a regular Sunday morning dance experience in Utrecht. We hope this will be a beautiful addition to the local ED community.
