In an intimate setting, we will learn how to use rope as a self exploration practice. Noana will guide you through the process of using rope on your own body and explain the basic technical aspects necessary to start tying yourself on the floor. Not only will we focus on the technicalities, but we will go into a collective self tying session together, to experience the range of flavours that self tying has to offer. This gathering is more than a workshop, it is a journey into the body!

Will your ropes feel meditative, sensual, painful, or like an elegant adornment? The true beauty of self-tying is not just in the knots, but in the way they make you feel.

𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐩

First hour: Welcome, small sharing, explanation of techniques and safety measures.
Second hour: Collective sensual self tying session guided by Noana & unwind with tea and snacks


𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

- Beginner friendly
- Ropes will be provided but if you have your own set of ropes, do bring them!
- Wear something that is tight fitting. Lingerie/underwear is also welcome if that feels comfortable and you would rather experience the rope directly on your skin.
- This event is for womxn and non-binary people only.
- All ages are welcome.
- The workshop will be hosted in English or Dutch dependent on the participants' preferred language, but Noana speaks both so translation is always possible.
- An email with the exact location and more info will be provided a couple days before the event.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐢?

Shibari is a Japanese form of bondage art, which involves the intricate and artistic tying of ropes around the body. Shibari has the ability to put both rigger and receiver in deeply meditative states. Shibari is full of beautiful paradoxes. Although the body is tied, the mind is freed up and becomes still. Where there is a discomfort present on the skin, there is also the opportunity for deep acceptance.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐍𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐚

Noana is a sensual rigger from Amsterdam who emphasises the ritualistic nature of Shibari in her work. To her, rope is a way to connect the spiritual realms to the deep, earthy realms of the body. She started her own journey as a rigger through self tying, and would like to share this practice as a low threshold way to get introduced to the wonderful world of shibari!
