Social events with an openness for dating, inspired by mindful practices, embodied presence, conscious relating, and genuine human connection.
Hi, I'm Katie, my nickname is Hoku. ;)
**About Hoku Events**
I started Hoku events because I feel called to be a part of adding to modern dating culture. I’ve long been drawn to spaces centered around tea, meditation, conscious connection, presence, embodiment, and relational awareness—and at some point, I found myself thinking: somebody ought to create dating events that feel more like this.
But honestly, it goes beyond dating. Hoku events for me is about creating intentional spaces where people can connect in a more grounded, open, and human way. Spaces where we can leave the alcohol behind, put our phones away, slow down, listen to good music, share conversation, and actually meet each other.
I am curating these events to be about playfulness, openness, and just being ourselves. They are facilitated for the entire evening so I hope it can be fun and engaging for you. Me and a small team will guide through all sorts of exercises aimed at getting to know one another, but of course everything is always optional. My personal goal is that even if people don't happen to meet their match in one evening, that there still will be valuable takeaways from the mindful experiences bringing us closer to ourselves. 💛
(FYI, the cover photo is not one of the events. 😉 In my spare time I occasionally organize vintage-inspired aerial photoshoots, and I liked the playful, slightly theatrical vibe of this one — along with the comedic dating allusion. It probably captures some part of my personality, though not necessarily the atmosphere of these events.)
**About Me**
I’m a meditation instructor and life coach based in Eindhoven. I offering mindfulness-based support for individuals and couples moving through difficult life transitions, relationship challenges, periods of growth, and questions around connection, intimacy, and authenticity.
Alongside coaching, I offer donation-based individual meditation instruction, as well as host tea ceremonies in my home, creating spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves and each other, and experience more presence in daily life.

I’m currently completing a double Master’s degree in Clinical and Organizational Psychology in the Netherlands.
I’m originally from the US, now living in Lommel, Belgium, and am a mother to two amazing children. I also personally value and explore relationship structures rooted in openness, honesty, communication, and conscious connection — something that naturally inspired the creation of Hoku.
