African Circle Sessions

Welcome, Friday morning 22 december to land in yourself ánd the community through dance and music.

Originally music and dance were part of community gatherings and celebrations, and in many African cultures they still are. Here in the west they got somehow separated and became art forms that we tend to present on a podium (to look at or listen to).
We gather with 5 music and dance professionals to bring live music and dance back into the circle also as a way to connect more deeply with yourself, each other and spirit.

The morning:

08.30-09.00 Welcome tea, time to come in

09.00-10.15 Musical & vocal improvisation and meditation
with Jorn ten Ham and Daniel Okiror (music)

10.30-12.00 Circle dance and movement research with Mieke Koldewee (dance), Kodjo Agbodjalou (doundoun) and Kalungi Israel (drums)

12.00-12.30 Moving into our daily lives again

We want to be open for people with different financial situations. So we offer three different prices (regular, budget and support). With the support ticket you make it possible for people to join for the budget price. We trust you choose the price that fits your situation.

We offer this as a whole morning experience, so we encourage everyone to join the whole morning. Even if you may feel a bit uncomfortable vocalizing or dancing.... There is no level of experience required: every-body and level is welcome and included.
If you are not able to join the whole morning because of your schedule, you're welcome to join just the music or dance session. We offer these tickets from a week before the actual date of the session.
