Step into a space where intuition meets technique and discover the magic of free movement. Our workshops are all about playfulness, connection, and dancing. With several different teachers, we take you through the many layers of contact improvisation. From playful connections to intuitive explorations, these workshops are an invitation to find your own rhythm. No prior experience is neededโjust bring an open mind and a willingness to move!
Meet Kees Lemmens:
Contact Improvisation is often a strongly kinaesthetics-oriented form of dance, and I enjoy giving attention to the technique of it. In these last two classes of this series I however besides this want to underscore the composition, the composing together.
By juxtaposing and combining contact and composition, I would like to create more room โfiguratively speaking at leastโ for various interactions. Could this increase the possible actual diversity? โฆand include possibilities of touch, rather than making this the premise of Contact Improvisation?
We will play with space and time, with probably some more focus on each of the two per class.
These sessions are especially welcoming to beginners, or to those who want to reconnect with the fundamentals.

Everyone is welcome! Whether youโre an experienced dancer or just curious about exploring new forms of movement, these sessions provide a safe and inspiring environment to learn and experiment.

โจ Class starts at 19:00, roughly 20:30 we start a jam. Officially we end at 21:00 but we usually keep the studio open a bit longer.

Another Kind Of Blue is known for beautiful choreography mixed with technique. With international acclaim, we make shows where we fly with drones, use projections and are currently developing a VR experience.
However, we believe dance is more than perfection and technique. Therefore, we are embracing contact improvisation, a form where spontaneity and direct interaction with each other are key. We encourage people to let go of control, trust their instincts and each other and discover new, unpredictable movements.
