Emma van den Boogert

Emma held a beautiful space where the field could resonate and open us from the inside out. No pressure to sing, act or be in a certain way, I felt like ai could fully be myself. The songs we sang were a great mix, and I felt like this was the most connecting singing circle I have been at!

Ik was erg afwachtend met betrekking tot deze online singing circle maar het was verrassend fijn. Omdat anderen jou niet horen voelt het heel vrij om te experimenteren met je eigen stem. Wat ik ook opmerkelijk vond is de verbinding die je voelt. Fijne begeleiding ook weer Emma

Dit was niet de eerste keer dat ik aanwezig was, het voelde dit keer heel verbonden en ook wel ingetogen, prachtige ervaring! Opmerkelijk hoe verschillend het kan zijn.

Emma is een hele fijne facilitator. Helder in context setting, zachte energie, goeie vooroefeningen om erin te komen, afwisselende soorten liedjes/mantra’s.

Lekker samen gezongen, prettige luchtige sfeer; prima ritme van de bijeenkomst.
De ruimte vond ik minder geschikt.

This was a risky and vulnerable event for me to attend. Music is dear to me, but singing... oh, boy. Tough one.

I came because I knew Emma from the circling community, and I already trusted her to do a beautiful job holding space.

My trust was rewarded and deepened with this session. I train facilitators, so I could easily geek out on every single thing she did right... Maybe I will - why not, it's a review! Emma was fully present, inclusive of fear and naming it to make space for the rest of us, perfect mixture of structure and flexibility, good humor, cozy set up of physical space, good choice of assistants who fit in energetically.

My only suggestion might have been to bring better percussion options. I understand her regular percussionist was not there, but in such a hippy group, I'm sure someone (maybe me) could have picked up a djembe or cajon if it was in the space. But perhaps louder drumming would not have been in keeping with the event's vibe?

Also, I have to say that hindu/kirtanstyle chanting and mantras are very far away from my personal path, and they generally make it harder for me to connect to what's going on. Emma's printed sheet (another great touch) had more of these, so I was perhaps a bit panicked at first. Turns out that most of the songs sung were in English and some in Dutch, which made me happy.

Emma held A fun, open and creative space that felt safe to explore the voice within. I will definitely be back!

This singing circle literally revives me. I went in so disconnected from myself, and left feeling happy, alive, and much more whole.
I would highly recommend carving out time for it.

Ik heb eerder met anderen gezongen, maar tijdens deze singing cirkle heb ik er voor het eerst echt van mogen genieten. Het veld wat Emma neerzette nodigde mij al snel uit om thuis te komen in mijn lichaam en in de groep om een gevoel van verbondenheid te ervaren.
