MIDDLE EASTERN INFUSION - live music & dance (DJ Tayphoon)

Over dit evenement

After an amazing first time in May, we will have a second edition of this evening full of Middle Eastern and Anatolian delight!

Hashem Kabreet, Lian Priemus and Tayfun (also known as DJ Tayphoon) selected again a mix of musicians with different backgrounds but a shared love of Middle Eastern music. Join us for a magical night!

We will sing, dance, eat and get mesmerized by the Sufi Whirling of Isabel.

We are so glad that Tamara Huiberts will host us again in the amazing Arabic lounge of the former Mirror Centre.

Our doors are open at 18.30. We love it if you bring some food to share, but you are also welcome to come and enjoy our fresh mint tea and a bit of humus and bread. There's a sweet garden to hang out.

What we love about this evening is that different worlds meet. The so called 'conscious scene' and people with a Middle Eastern background party together 'on our own supply' as we call it. No alcohol and drugs, maximum joy.

At 19.00 the live music will start and Isabel will dance. Percussionist and facilitator Hashem Kabreet will lead our ad hoc live band and also singer and oud-player Nour Wahedi will take part again. We will keep you posted about the other musicians, but you can be sure that it will be as good as last time!

Around 21.00 dj Tayphoon will make sure that nobody wants to stand still (although there's always a chill area of course) with his dj-set. He is known for his love for bassy ethnic beats from the Middle East, Anatolia and India. Together with Hashem Kabreet, they will create a hybrid dj-set that includes different persussion elements from the Middle East (darbuka, frame drum etc) and the handpan.

At the end of the evening there is the opportunity to jam. Feel free to bring your instrument or your voice.

We would love to welcome you all. If the ticketprice is a financial challenge for you at the moment, please don't hesitate to let us know so we can find another way you can help us.

Unfortunately, there is NO REFUND possible for the tickets, but you are free to sell them of course. Let us know if you do.

Hope to sing or dance with you soon!

Much love, Lian, Hashem & Tayfun
