Bring Music to Life with West Coast Swing

West Coast Swing is a very versatile dance, allowing dancers to initiate improvisational movement based on the music and their connection with their partner. It happens in the moment. You don't have to settle for one type of music. There is a wide range of styles possible. We really love that!

There are several WCS communities in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, and once you get the basics, you can join Social Dancing events.

We are bringing this amazing dance to the south of the Netherlands!

Dorine and Anouk, joined by their friend Sulina, are really excited about this dance. As it has some overlap in vibe with Tantric Dance (improvisation, connection), we want to share our journey with you and offer the opportunity to learn together.

So, on Saturday and Sunday, 23/24 January 2027, we are having Claire and Leysan over from Eindhoven. Two experienced teachers who will join us in our beautiful church for a weekend with 6 hours of lessons, music and fun. You can really make a start with WCS.

And we are hosting our first Social Dance following the course!

15.30 hrs – Lesson 3
16.30 /18.00 hrs – Time to practice

Sunday 24th
14.00 hrs – Doors open
14.30 hrs – Start, Lesson 4
15.30 hrs – Break
15.45 hrs – Lesson 5
16.45 hrs – Break
17.00 hrs – Lesson 6
18.00 /19.00 hrs – Break – Potluck dinner
19.00 /22.00 hrs – Social Dance Party (people with experience in WCS can join; check tickets)

🖊️ PRACTICAL INFORMATION

🕖 Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of January 2027
✋ No alcohol or drugs
🥛We will provide water, tea and snacks, but bring a bottle and a potluck lunch contribution on Saturday and a dinner contribution on Sunday.
👗 Wear comfortable clothing; layering is convenient.
🚿 Please take care of your personal hygiene.
🚙 Parking is available nearby, but it's not free. Oosterweg parking (Burg. Henssingel) and a garage is located across the street.
🚄 A 6-minute walk from Valkenburg Station.
🗣️ It will be hosted in English.
