One Shibari Workshop, Many Ties

This Floorwork based workshop by @switchmeister and @Malena is a conceptual workshop where we will go through multiple different topics which we think are helpful early on in your rope journey. The topics will include:

Alternative Harnesses to hands in the back (or TK)
Rope for Spicy Activities
Torture Ties
Hog Ties on the Floor
Minimalistic ties
Tying with Pace (alternating speeds)
Small tips for better Rope Handling
Ties for Exposure

The workshop is designed to not teach you patterns to copy but to understand the decision making process, i.e "why are we doing what we are doing". And of course it's perfectly okay to replicate those patterns but we encourage you to take the exercises and make them your own!

There will be multiple exercises.

Ask questions and negotiate on things like close body contact, physical and emotional intimacy, eye contact, soft limits and hard limits. Touching and exposing the upper body, exposure play as well.

It is also a good practice to ask each other if you have any history of medical issues such as fractures or if you have a weak spot (like an ankle, or hips, or certain movements that don't work for you) for example. Please bring these to the workshop and we will find as many alternatives as we can ☺️

Workshop Skill Level and Requirements: This is a beginners + workshop. We expect the following from the participants: Be AT LEAST 18 years of age. No Maximum age limit. This workshop is longer than our normal 4 hour workshops.

People who tie the other person:

1. Ability to tie a single column tie with little to no effort
2. Basic understanding of signs of nerve compression and blood flow issues
3. Have attended workshops with experienced teachers before, at least on how to tie a single column tie, rope handling and wrapping around the body

3-5 lengths (8 meters or longer) of Jute, Hemp or POSH rope. NO cotton or nylon.

People being tied:

1. Experiences with workshops where single column ties have been taught OR have at least been tied before in workshop settings of longer than 2 hours

2. Basic understanding of signs of nerve compression and blood flow issues and communicating with your partner

Switching is allowed and encouraged. in this case you will have half the time for each exercise or alternatively, you are welcome to switch between exercises.
