A series of three evenings (10, 17 and 24 March) where you will learn the basic skills of tying another person (Shibari / connective bondage). In short, we will learn how to tie up someone in a playful, creative, intimate and safe way. This time in English!
We focus primarily on the connection and dynamics between partners. We cover a number of technical aspects of tying and pay attention to safety and setting boundaries. We tie based on your own creativity and what may arise between you and your partner at that moment. But most of all it's about having fun with a rope and a partner, whatever that may mean.
A common misconception is that bondage is mainly about sex and although there is an erotic aspect to bondage, these evenings have little to do with sex. No sexual acts may take place and clothes remain on. However, it is an environment where it gets intimate with lots of touch and closeness.
You are welcome to attend on your own or as a couple. We see added value in working with different partners and genders during the evenings so we invite you to switch roles and partners whenever you can. But you are of course free to choose with whom you tie. If you want to do everything with the same partner, that is fine too. We work a lot with consent and do our best to create as comfortable an atmosphere as possible.
For this series, we do not provide any gender balance. We believe that you can learn a lot of technique when tying different bodies in different configurations.
❥ This workshop is for:
* absolute beginners without any experience
* people that have some experience but want to learn and practice in real life in both roles
* people that are interested in connecting with a partner in this way
* you if you think tying someone is nice/exciting/interesting
* you if you think being tied is nice/exciting/interesting
* singles and couples
* people that are at least 18 years old
❥ What should you wear?
Comfortable clothing. Preferably close fitting, with maximum mobility and not too slippery. A yoga outfit for example is ideal. Jeans and denim is not. It is best to leave jewellery and bras with underwire at home. And please be mindful of body odour and perfumes, and keep this to a minimum. When tying, you are often very close to someone else, and strong perfume or sweat odour is not very pleasant.
❥ What should you bring?
- Your own rope, if you have it.
- A water bottle that can be closed off is nice as well.
❥ What if I don't have my own rope?
We have ropes that you can borrow. You can also buy rope from Martijn. If you want this, please let us know in advance so we can bring enough. A set of 3 is 60 euro's.
❥ ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Martijn and Lisa are conscious kink and sexuality facilitators and huge Shibari enthusiasts. You can contact them for tying courses, sexuality-related workshops and events. They help people rediscover their playful selves and face their shame and dark sides. Martijn, with his work as a body-oriented sex coach, and Lisa, with her background as an improvisational theatre trainer, complement each other well.

Cost: €179 for three Tuesday evenings: 10, 17 & 24 March, tea and snacks are provided
We can host a maximum of 20 participants
❥ Times:
Doors open: 19:00 - 19:30 (please be inside by 19:15, as there will not be anyone at the door to let you in from 19:30 onwards)
Workshop: 19:30 - 22:30
❥ Cancellation:
Send an email to info@freedivecommunity.nl stating that you wish to cancel your ticket. Our cancellation policy applies (www.playcommunity.nl/algemene-voorwaarden). (Essentially, you will receive a refund for courses/series up to 3 weeks in advance. There will be an administrational fee of €20).
❥ Waiting list:
If the event is sold out, we will try to resell your ticket to someone on the waiting list, up to 48 hours before the start of the workshop. We ask you to be careful when buying and cancelling tickets - it takes us time and effort and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to find a replacement.
❥ Location:
The workshop will be held at the Playground at Kanaalweg 84A in Utrecht.

The car park is closed off with a barrier. When you arrive, you have two options:
1) Ring the bell at the barrier. This will ring a bell inside and we can open it for you (please note: this may take a while and is only possible during the doors open time of the workshop! What if we don't hear the bell?
2) You can call 06-28998587. We won't answer, but we will open the barrier for you.
