Small is Beautiful lecture #3 - How to fall in love with the Future, by Rob Hopkins
Join us for the third Small is Beautiful lecture, hosted by Schumacher Action Labs! This time our guest is Rob Hopkins, co-founder of the Transition Town movement and author of From What Is to What If. Rob will invite us to imagine new possibilities for our communities and explore how small, local actions can ripple out into big change.
In his latest book, How to Fall in Love with the Future, Rob explores people and movements throughout history who have used visions of the future to inspire positive change on a large scale. Rob’s lecture will offer a joyful, urgent invitation to reimagine what’s possible. What kind of world would emerge if we collectively imagine—and then create—a world we were deeply in love with?
This lecture is the 3rd Small is Beautiful Lecture, organised by Schumacher Action Labs. After welcoming David Bollier in 2023, and Helena Norberg-Hodge last year, we are looking forward to continue the thread of how to imagine ánd take action to create future we want to be part of.
**Feast for the Future We Love, Community Dinner & Crowdfunding Launch for Voedselpark Amsterdam**
After the Schumacher Lecture, we invite you to join us at De Sering for a community dinner unlike any other. Together with the cooks and produce of Voedselpark Amsterdam, we will serve a meal that embodies what this project is all about: food grown with care, shared in community, and rooted in the fertile soil of the Lutkemeer.
For years, many people have fallen in love with the idea of a food park in Amsterdam. And now — with your help — that dream will become reality in 2027. This evening we also launch our crowdfunding campaign. Because to save the last fertile soil of Amsterdam, and to realize the full potential of the Lutkemeer, we need everyone: neighbors, citizens, and yes — politicians — to fall in love with the future of Voedselpark. This will be a moment of commitment, hope, and shared action. Let’s fall in love with the future, together. 💛
