We are deeply grateful to announce that Māori healers Ruatau and Rachael are returning from Aotearoa (New Zealand) to Kura Waka to share the Traditional Romiromi & Mirimiri Healing Bodywork Trainings.

For those who feel the call to walk the ancient Māori healing path, we warmly invite you to join this certified Level 1–3 training, rooted in ancestral wisdom and living tradition.

🌺 ANCESTRAL HEALING PASSED THROUGH GENERATIONS

From the Tūpuna Mātua (ancestors), these sacred healing practices have flourished for thousands of years. They have been carried through tribal, family and environmental knowledge — shaped by land, sea, forests and mountains.

Each environment holds its own role, wisdom and responsibility. This is why Māori healing is alive, adaptive and deeply connected to whenua (land).

✨ WHAT IS ROMIROMI?

Romiromi is a powerful form of deep tissue Māori bodywork, activated when deep physical and energetic work is required.

• Romi — to work deeply within the body (organs, blood, tissue, muscles)
• Mi — to stimulate Te Hā (the breath of life) and move stagnation

Romiromi works in harmony with Mirimiri. Together, they are symbiotic modalities, restoring balance across physical, emotional and spiritual layers.

✨ WHAT IS MIRIMIRI?

Mirimiri is an intuitive, perceptive healing modality that does not always involve touch.

It works through:
• Energy perception
• Intuition and spiritual knowing
• Subtle healing frequencies

When allowed to permeate the body, Mirimiri becomes deeply transformative — guiding the whaiora (receiver) on their journey of recovery and remembrance.

🔥 DEEPENING THE PRACTICE — WANANGA LEVEL 3

During this Wānanga, we move fluidly between taha wairua (spirit) and physical bodywork, diving deeper into the healing energies of Papatūānuku (Earth Mother).

You will explore:
• Healing vibrations and emotive sounds from the land
• Working beyond basic alignment into specialised body areas
• Physical, emotional and spiritual links to injury and dis-ease
• Te Reo Māori as vibration, frequency and energetic language
• Environmental healing — working with the Mauri of the land, not against it

You will learn how to expand and protect your own energy, ensuring sustainability in both daily life and mahi (work), without depletion.

A strong emphasis is placed on awakening the Whatumanawa (heart center) — deepening connection to Ngā Atua, Tūpuna and self.

🌿 A JOURNEY OF HEALING & REMEMBRANCE

This Wānanga is both a physical and metaphysical journey, supporting:
• Practitioners deepening their Romiromi/Mirimiri practice
• Those walking their own personal healing path

Teachings are shared in Te Reo Māori, English and Dutch.
✨ No prior knowledge of Māori language is required.

🧿 ABOUT RUATAU PEREZ

(Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāpuhi)

Ruatau trained for over 10 years under Papa Joe, continuing his teachings after Papa Joe’s passing through wairua (spirit). Introduced to Mirimiri as a child by his grandmother, Ruatau has been sharing Rongoā Māori, Romiromi and Mirimiri since the year 2000, both in Aotearoa and internationally.

Private Romiromi & Mirimiri Sessions
A single session can uplift your wairua and energy, while long-term pain or illness may require a series of treatments to clear layers of trauma within hinengaro (mind) and tinana (body).
