The Joyous Body | Breathwork, Yin Yoga and Holy Basil
We would love to welcome you to an intimate summer gathering to explore the gentle pleasure of being in your body. We're offering a nourishing afternoon of breathwork, yin yoga, tea ritual, and sensory rest - a space to soften, slow down, and reconnect with what truly feels good.
What is it to feel pleasure through the body?
What is the pleasure of simply being in the moment?
Let’s be honest: being in the moment isn’t always easy. And expecting it to feel pleasurable can be a lot to ask. But what if there were a way to access pleasure even — and especially — when things feel challenging.
We invite you to a space where you can fully exhale and gently rediscover the pleasure of being with yourself — with softness and with slowness.
*This afternoon "work"shop is a space to unwind, grow still, and explore your inner landscape through felt sense.
* A space where you are behind the wheel — choosing how deeply you wish to go.
* A space to attune to yourself — to notice what nourishes you and brings you pleasure in the present moment.
We’ll begin the day with a meditation and Holy Basil tea ritual.
Holy basil, also known as Tulsi, is often used to support emotional balance and mental well-being. It's considered an adaptogen, meaning it helps the body adapt to stress and promotes balance. This can help reduce mental tension, improve mood, and enhance mental clarity. It soothes the nervous system and helps us relax deeper into our session.
Then, through Nicky’s guidance, we’ll use the breath to explore different nervous system states — creating space for stress reduction, emotional release, and the clearing of stagnant energy, so you can return to a more coherent inner rhythm.
Joy will then support integration of the breathwork session through a restorative Yin Yoga practice, coupled with gentle intuitive movements to allow for a deepening into restfulness through the exploration of our sensory body. Yin yoga is a subtle yet profound practice of being with what is, holding different poses for longer periods of time than traditional yoga.
We’ll finish the day together with a closing circle with space to share for those that feel a desire to do so.
The location is the beautiful “Het Maanhuis” in Koedijk, North Holland.
The space is inherently grounding and intimate in feeling, suitable for a maximum of 10 participants, keeping things cosy and small.
If you’re longing for rest, inner quiet, and a new relationship to pleasure — one rooted in presence and self-connection — then we warmly welcome you.
About us:
Joy is an experienced yoga and movement teacher, having specialized in Yin Yoga with Marije Paternotte (Sarah Powers lineage) and Jo Phee. She shares a passion for fascia, un-shaming through understanding, learning the language of the nervous system, and the re-animation of our instinctual, sensory, animal body. Aside from yogic studies her background includes psycho-somatics, myofascial release, and ongoing studies related to trauma, the nervous system, and the female body. Years of work as an adventure travel guide cultivated a deep love of nature and the desire to bring the essence of wildness and playful exploration into all she does.
Nicky comes from an academic background in Neuropsychology and is a certified yoga teacher and breathwork coach. She's passionate about
weaving together ritual, embodiment, and emotional intelligence to create spaces where people feel safe and deeply seen. After years of managing a large retreat center, she’s now pouring her energy into creating her own
events: spaces that honor the wisdom of the body, invite meaningful connection, and feel like both a homecoming and a gentle push forward. Nicky’s work is where head meets heart, structure meets spirit, and healing doesn’t have to mean taking yourself too seriously.
