Threading Theatre

Threading Theatre is a dance collective founded by choreographer and dancer Justin de Jager. Through the movement concept of threading, the collective explores how bodies, movements and people become intertwined.

Threading originates from breakdance and focuses on creating physical openings by connecting different body parts. From this movement language, fluid, layered and sometimes challenging movement patterns emerge. In the work of Threading Theatre, this physical technique is developed into a theatrical and philosophical form of research.

The collective creates performances, workshops and gatherings in which movement, attention, collaboration and bodily awareness are central. Threading Theatre invites participants and audiences to experience the body in a new way: not only as an instrument of expression, but also as a gateway to connection, creativity and presence.

The workshops and gatherings are designed for people who want to discover threading as a physical movement language. The focus is on exploration, movement, research and learning. Dance experience is not always required; curiosity about movement, the body and collaboration is enough.
