Dance Within Waters is a journey guided by Imaya and Janneke. Not only will we create space to embody the touch of water, but we will focus even more on how to be moved Within Waters. Water is denser than air and provides a space with less gravity which is giving us the opportunity to explore dancing/moving upside down. Within this journey, we first explore the movement of water and our own movement through the water. We will focus on the touch of water, allowing ourselves to fully arrive within our own body and observe the gentle movements the water is inviting us to make. This allows us to come to a place where we can surrender to how our body wants to move us and from this connection, we will slowly open up to interact with each other.
Then we will carry and dance each other within the water. Being held and supported by someone else in this flow of water will give a deep feeling of relaxation. A beautiful experience to learn to surrender in a safe and gentle way.
After this introduction to the element of water, we will explore how we can create a water dance improvisation. A magical experience where our perception of space: above/under/right/left can drop and open up to a whole new experience.

For whom?!
For this dance-class you don't need to have dance experience. It's an invitation to let go of the need to know how. It's an invitation to allow the water to move you, carry you, and feel how you can surrender to the flow.
For anyone who is able to swim by themselves and feels a YES within their own waters.

✾Practicals
Make sure you have lunch before, Bring a towel, robe (something warm for in between), swimwear (can also be underwear + top), and something to eat afterward, grounding can be necessary.

Imaya has been living on Koh Phangan island where the ocean was always there to co-create these magical moments. She finished the Wataflow course and assisted a few as well. Besides sharing the water work Imaya holds weekly women-circles, is a certified Tao Tantric Healing Arts facilitator and a parts-work therapist. Janneke is a certified dancemovement therapist and embodiment coach, based in Eindhoven. She facilitates coaching, workshops, retreats and performances for women, coaches & everybody who has an interest in conscious, authentic movement and contact dance as a tool for self discovery, expression and healing.
