Welcome to this Ritual Dance in a beautiful church in Gent. (Further below you can read what Ritual Dance is)
During fall, when the leaves change colour, the essence of the seasons move. Surrender. Letting go.
When changes happens in our lives, how do we fall into movement and trust.
What is it like to fall in love?
What is it like to fall into the unknown?
What is it like to fall… into the dance.
Andrew Leigh will guide this Ritual Dance, inspired by his background in contact improvisation and contemporary dance. With “vallen en opstaan” we will move though this experience.
Everyone is welcome, with or without dance experience.
A safe environment is created where everyone is free to go and explore. This Ritual Dance will be guided in English.

- 19:00 arrival and welcome

- 22:00 closing Ritual Dance and time for sharing

Registration for the Ritual Dance is necessary, because places are limited.
***What is Ritual Dance?***
Ritual Dance is a dance experience where we come together in silence. From the silence we make eye contact with another dancer. Music is the invitation to go into spontaneous, free dance.
The concept of Ritual Dance is inspired by Ecstatic Dance and Ritual Play. We only use body language, we leave words behind. We dance barefoot. We only drink water and let ourselves be carried away by the natural flow. There is a dedicated space (the field) and time frame (the songs), in which we step into the unknown, to authentically follow our impulses in tune with the other.
