Welcome to Ecstatic Dance Maastricht with DJ Yarun Dee and Cacao Ceremony by Anouk & Yora,
At this special edition we celebrate Sanne (the organizer) her 40th birthday!!!
We will start the evening with a Cacao Ceremony guided by Anouk & Yora.
We will drink a cup of raw Cacao, this medicine is known for many healing properties but mainly for it's heart opening effect. When we work with medicine it is always a co-creation between you and the spirit of the plant. If we only drink cacao, sit back and do nothing, not much will happen.
That is why we will create a moment to set our intentions for the whole evening before we drink the cacao. And invited the talented sisters Anouk & Yora to share their songs with us and invite us to sing along. Let yourself be touched by their hearth opening and soul touching music.
When we start to connect, sing and dance the spirit of cacao will join us and enhance the whole experience.
The Cacao will be prepared bij Lois, also known as Mother of the waters. She is an indigenous young woman from Limburg who has a deep connection and is working with Cacao.
In dutch we say "bitter in de mond maakt het hart gezond" (bitter in the mouth heals the heart). We will drink the cacao unsweetened and only add some herbs.
Extra care and awareness is desirable for people with heart/blood pressure related complaints. We advice to start with a half or quarter cup and feel how your body responds. In order to connect with cacao just a small nib is enough later on you can always decide to have some more.
After the ceremony we will have a short brake and from there DJ Yarun Dee will guide us into the Ecstatic Dance.
Ecstatic Dance is a free form of dance, very pure and simple and therefore so powerful and transforming. To create a save and sacred environment we follow a few basic but important guidelines.
We commit ourselves to:
* No speaking or communicating in spoken language, as soon as you enter the room the entire space is a non-speaking area,
* We dance and move barefoot in our own unique way,
* We come as pure as possible, stay free from alcohol/drugs or other stimulating/narcotic substances and strong perfumes,
* Phones/camera's or other distractions are not allowed until the end of the closing-circle,
Program:
18.30 Doors open
19:00 Start Cacao Ceremony
20:00 Short break, clearing the space
20:15 Start Ecstatic Dance
22.15 Closing-circle
Practical:
* Wear layers of comfortable clothes in which you can move freely, take into account that you will sweat and take care of good hygiene,
* Bring a yoga mat, sheepskin, (meditation)pillow to sit on,
* Returning tickets once purchased is not possible. No refunds will be made unless the event is canceled by the organization,
* Leave your valuables at home as much as possible. We keep the dancefloor free from personal belongings so that we can literally leave the worries and distractions of everyday life outside the room,
* We do our very best to guarantee your safety, but we would like to point out that participation is entirely at your own risk.
* We will serve a limited amount of water and organic tea, please bring your own water bottle!
Location: We will dance at "Het Ruweel" in Malberg Maastricht. This venue has all the facilities needed for a good and comfortable Ecstatic Dance. There are plenty of free parkingspots and a bus stop in front of the door.
