Firemakers Midwinter Gathering of Brotherhood

Welcome brothers to the Midwinter Brotherhood Gathering!

We will come together around the fire again. To experience winter together. To enter the journey through the long night, and to find the light in ourselves again.

What you can expect: brothers practicing together, going through deep inner processes, sweat lodge, good healthy food, serious sillyness, ice bath, systemic work and so much more.
We will reside at the lovely Land of Yemaya, a beautiful place to really take a step back and invite all of your self to come forward.

Practical:
Please note that there is an extra charge for staying in a double or single room instead of a dorm. And if you want to stay in your own camper or tent that is possible and you will get a discount for that.

Midwinter is the natural day of the year which in the northern hemisphere sees the fewest hours of daylight, followed by the longest night. It is a turning point in the year, traditionally associated with and celebrated for “the return of the light”.

To us this means that after the days of going inwards, of retiring and - in a figurative way – dying, we may now shine the first light on what has remained unseen in the dark. As Leonard Cohen puts it:
“Ring the bell that still can ring
forget your perfect offering
there is a crack in everything
that’s how the light gets in”

We wish to share amongst brothers our deepest fears, convictions and desires. What do you have to battle in order to live your life, walk your path and shine your light the coming year? You are not expected to be enlightened in this Gathering; you are supposed to be imperfect, as are we. You are just invited to take note of your darkness, and to feel the support of your brothers in your resolutions how to be with that darkness, how to let it be there without judgement, and how to be with your longing to make it light, lighter.

Together let’s make an effort to find the cracks, widen them and let the light shine in.
