- Nervous System Regulation Through Conscious Touch, Breath & Presence -

DISEASE appears when we are NOT AT EASE. Chronic stress, anxiety, insomnia, burnout, emotional overwhelm, hormonal imbalance, and feeling disconnected from ourselves have become increasingly common. When we disconnect from our inner nature, our body, and the natural rhythm of life. In a world where many of us live in constant stimulation, pressure, and “doing”, our nervous systems often forget what it feels like to feel truly Home.

Healing begins with one essential experience: SAFETY.
Not only external safety - having a safe home, work, or environment - but the deeper inner feeling that our body is safe enough to soften, release, and come back into balance.

Somatic Thai Yoga Massage Therapy workshop is an invitation to return home to the body through conscious touch, breath, movement, and presence. It is a deep healing practice, meditation in motion, and a sacred dance between giver and receiver.

WHAT IS THAI YOGA MASSAGE?

Since ancient times, Thai massage has been considered a spiritual practice, closely connected with the teachings of Buddha. It is rooted in the principles of presence, attention, intention, and METTA - loving kindness and compassion.

Traditional Thai yoga massage works with the concept of energy pathways (sen lines), influenced by yoga philosophy and traditional Asian medicine. Through mindful pressure, rhythmic movement, rocking, stretching, and conscious touch, Thai massage supports relaxation, circulation, and a deeper connection with the body.

Thai yoga massage is much more than a massage technique. It is an opportunity to slow down, listen, and create a relationship with the body based on respect rather than force. The practice is traditionally performed on a futon on the floor, fully clothed and without oil.

THE SOMATIC APPROACH

The essence of this workshop is holistic & somatic approach. Somatic means coming back into direct experience of the body - sensing, feeling, and listening from within. Instead of trying to fix the body or force change, we create the conditions for the body to naturally express, release, and reorganize itself.

The body already knows. Often, the body knows what the mind is still trying to understand.
Here, the slower we go, and the less we force, the more space we create for the body to speak.
In this workshop, the somatic approach will influence every aspect of the practice:

- breath as a foundation: receiver will be constantly encouraged to breathe properly
- pace of the techniques: slowing down enough to truly feel
- quality and strength of touch: learning how to meet the body instead of pushing against it
- choice of techniques: specific somatic techniques along with rocking, oscillation, holding, gentle mobilization, traditional "blood stop" and mindful pressure to create safety and trust.

Traditional Thai massage often works with deeper stretches and reciprocal tension. In this workshop, we will explore a softer approach — staying more in the natural slack of the body, allowing space rather than forcing expansion. Because when the body feels safe, it can begin to open and than.... the universal order can express freely. Finally.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

This 15hrs workshop is a bodywork-based deep dive into the relationship between body, breath, touch, and nervous system. We will explore:

~ Traditional Thai massage techniques combined with somatic practices
~ The philosophy of conscious touch
~ Somatic principles and embodiment
~ Breath awareness for giver and receiver
~ Nervous system regulation through touch, presence
~ Creating safety through holding and connection
~ Sen energy lines and mindful pressure
~ Rocking, oscillation, gentle mobilization, and slow movement
~ Body positioning and transitions: supine, side and prone positions
~ Short sequences you can offer to friends, beloved ones, or clients

The ultimate goal of this practice is not to achieve a certain shape or change the body. It is to create a deeply nourishing experience where the receiver feels seen, supported, and connected.

A space where the body can soften.
A space where the breath can open.
A space where the nervous system can exhale.

ABOUT NICA

Nica has a master's degree in psychology, more than a decade of experience teaching yoga, and has been practicing Thai yoga massage for more than 6 years.

Her approach is inspired by authentic Thai bodywork practices from the Lahu village in Thailand, as well as studies and experiences from different countries across Europe, India, Thailand, and the Philippines.

With a background in psychology, yoga, meditation, breathwork, and somatic practices, she combines traditional wisdom with modern understanding of the nervous system and embodiment.

“I see the body as a mirror of our inner world. The body is constantly communicating with us, showing us what is happening beneath the surface. Often, the body already knows what the mind is trying to understand. Through conscious touch, breath, and deep presence, we create the conditions for the body to return to safety, balance, and inner harmony.”
