Play Rotterdam: The Magic of Authentic Relating

A space to slow down and, through games, cultivate playful curiosity towards ourselves and each other.

This evening we’ll play a set of AR games; a simple example is the “Noticing game”, 35 seconds of this video:

There are hundreds of games that can be categorized by the main ways they impact participants - some focus on grounding, (connecting to self, present environment and sensations); other games build-up self-awareness (which can be surprisingly nurtured by interaction with others); others focus on self-expression, touch, empathy and many more!

This evening the focus will be mainly on curiosity - cultivating a sense of wonder, or examining the confusing, or welcoming the unexpected. You can expect to slow down, get into your body a bit, maybe laugh, be surprised and come into playful connection with fellow humans.

Facilitated by Niko Zhlebinkov,(they/them), an improv theater enthusiast driven by curiosity and connection. They’ve facilitated several events and are connected to many communities that inspire them, including PLAY

Language: English (Dutch speakers are welcome!)

SCHEDULE
19:00 — Doors open & landing
19:20 — Please arrive for the group opening
19:30 — Doors close, late entry not permitted to preserve the group container.
22:00 — End of workshop
22:00–22:30 — Chill space & afterglow

LOCATION
Welcome to the ceremonial attic at Struitenweg 33B, Rotterdam (Oud Charlois). The venue is easily reached by bus 44 from Rotterdam Central (15 min ride + 10 min walk).

TICKETS
We use a sliding price scale:

Supported (€9): For those short on cash.
Standard (€14): Regular price.
Supporter (€19): For those who want to support the community.
