This is a special opportunity to learn Forró Roots from 2 wonderful guest teachers visiting straight from São Paulo!

Flavio & Sabrina are coming to Nijmegen to share the foundations of this playful social dance.
Forró Roots is all about connection, musicality, and enjoying the dance together. In each workshop you'll explore different movements, learn to feel the music, and create a flowing dance that feels natural and joyful.
The workshops offers a welcoming space to learn, connect, and enjoy the music together.

✨ Who is teaching?
Flavio & Sabrina bring their experience directly from the vibrant forró scene in São Paulo, sharing a deep passion for the connection, musicality, and cultural richness of forró.
Together, they bring a warm and authentic approach to teaching Forró Roots, creating a learning space where technique, musicality, and connection come together on the dance floor.

Flavio has been teaching Brazilian dance since 2001 and brings more than 20 years of experience. His journey has taken him around the world, including teaching and performing in Japan and Australia, and he is known for combining strong technical foundations with musicality and the authentic spirit of Brazilian Forró.

Sabrina’s dance journey began in Brazil with Gypsy dance as part of a dance company, before discovering Forró, which has been part of her life since 2016. In 2021 she immersed herself deeply in Forró Roots, exploring its different movements, influences, and expressions. Since 2024 she has been sharing this passion through teaching, focusing on connection, musical dialogue, and the joy of dancing together.

Forró is a vibrant and joyful partner dance originating from the northeastern region of Brazil. It’s danced to the rhythmic beats of forró music, which blends accordion, zabumba, and triangle to create a captivating and energetic sound. The dance itself is all about connection, with close partner moves that make it easy to learn and incredibly fun to dance. Forró is sure to bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart!
