Over dit evenement
The Psychedelic Writing Retreat is a week-long journey for writers seeking personal transformation and a deeper connection with their creative spark. You will have the time and space to explore inner landscapes, reflect on your writing practice, and integrate your mystical experience among a small community of fellow writers. The retreat provides plenty of solo writing time combined with guided workshops and discussions.
The Psychedelic Writing Retreat might be a good fit if you:
-Feel that your personal growth and creative writing practice are deeply intertwined
-Are curious about the relationship between psychedelic experience and the creative process
-Feel creatively stuck or disconnected from your writing
-Value a balance between personal time and small-group interaction
A psychedelic journey can be profound and life-altering. The purpose of the retreat is to help you land softly afterward and channel new insights into your writing. Rather than packing your bags and slipping straight back into your old routine, you’ll be invited to slow down and integrate your experience in the company of other writers doing the same.
The goal isn’t to provide a quick fix for writer’s block (although that might certainly be one result). Instead, the retreat is about reshaping your relationship to creativity itself. As writers, our creative practice is woven into our lives and identities. This retreat offers a space to tend to that connection.
OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES:
Days 1-2: Arrival and Ceremony
We start the retreat at the Natuur Tempel in Teuge, NL. The day begins with orientation and intention-setting, followed by a professionally-facilitated psychedelic truffle ceremony. (For more information on the ceremony, please see the Nature Temple FAQ.) You will stay overnight. Before departing the Nature Temple, you will participate in a group integration circle with the facilitators.
Days 2-7: Writing and Integration
Next, we will move to the Makers Barn in Wijhe, NL for the remainder of the retreat. The drive is roughly half an hour and transportation is provided. At the Makers Barn, you will have long stretches of solo writing time; group reflection and integration of the psychedelic experience; and optional activities, including yoga, pond swimming, hiking, and unwinding in the sauna or hot tub.
Midway through the retreat, there will be an entirely optional lower-dose truffle session. More information will be provided prior to the retreat.
Additional support is provided through an online pre-retreat information session and a post-retreat check-in.
