TEMAZCAL FOR WOMEN: HEAL & RECLAIM YOURSELF
(Mexica Tradition)

The Temazcal is a traditional Mesoamerican SWEATLODGE CEREMONY used for purification, healing & spiritual rebirth. It is a steam bath with medicinal plants, drumming and ancient chants in the interior of a small, dome-shaped hut.
The hut represents the womb of the Earth, you enter to return to the origin.

When you enter the Temazcal with clear intention — and it is guided properly by experienced temazcaleras (guides) — what you receive is not a gift handed to you from the outside; it is something you rediscover — a truth long buried, remembered and reclaimed from deep within yourself

Guiding the ceremony:
Xochiquetzatl Rodriguez is a practitioner of traditional Mexican medicine (yerbatera, sobadora, and temazcalera). She has been walking with the medicines of her territory for a long time guided by elders and wise women. With over a decade of experience, she leads temazcales with humility, following the sacred ancestral ways of her Mexica ancestors.

Xochiquetzatl will come to GRONINGEN to guide a Women-Only Temazcal Ceremony:
A Return to the Womb. A Return to Yourself.

This sacred sweatlodge ceremony on September 5th is an invitation to explore and heal your inner world—
to enter the darkness with intention,
to listen to your heart and the ancestral memory,
to face what is draining you and making you ill or heavy,
and to cut it from the root so you may emerge lighter, clearer, and more fully yourself.

This Women-only Temazcal Is For You If:

* You feel drained, lacking wellbeing, clarity and purpose
* You are moving through major life transitions
* You work with women —as a coach, midwife, doula, facilitating circles and sacred medicines or in any role— guiding them through life’s cycles and healing.
* You want to be held so you can release control and the weight of carrying everything
* You long for deep connection and for sisterhood
* You need to harmonize your emotions, calm your nervous system, and quiet your mind.
* You are ready to go deeper into self-knowledge, and to release what no longer serves you.
* You are reclaiming your vitality, voice, boundaries, trust, strength, inner power and health.
* You want to contribute to keep this cultural practice alive and close to its origins for generations to come.

You go to the temazcal to FIND yourself and to GET RID of everything that sickens your body, mind and spirit... you go to ”die” and to emerge reborn, not like a differente person, but more YOURSELF.

Practical details:

Date: September 5th, 2026
Location: 15 minutes from Groningen, in Garmerwolde (easy access by car, bus, or bicycle)
Spots: 17 (women only)

Time: 11:00 to 19:00
Your are welcome to arrive from 11:00
The ceremony to light the fire will start at 11:30.
Afterwards we will prepare the energetic and physical space together.
Around 13:00, when the stones for the ceremony are ready, we all go inside the hut. There will be life drumming, singing, offerings and stories.
The temperature inside the hut depends on what is needed for the group (it's never cold!).
Around 16:30 we leave the hut... reborn and ready for our new life more aligned with our hearts!
Afterwards the closing ceremony will take place, and then we will share and eat together.
It is our intention to leave the place around 18:30.

Contribution:
from €101 to €121, according to your means and what feels right for you

If your personal circumstances allow you to contribute more than €121,- please do it. With your generosity we can give a discount to other women that have a very tight budget.

** Your spot will be confirmed after you pay the Tikkie that we will send you.
** Refunds are possible until August 1st. Afterwards if you can't participate you can transfer your spot to another woman (in that case, please let us know her name and contact details).

Please notice that:
- The ceremony is in SPANISH with simultaneous translation to ENGLISH.

- The funds collected go mainly toward the site (hut, wood, firekeeper, tarps…), Xochiquetzatl’s travel (flights, trains, local transport), and all other expenses that allow this traditional practice to take place on this day and for generations to come.

- We invite you to bring CASH on the day of the ceremony if you wish to acquire the medicines Xochiquetzatl lovingly crafts for healing, energetic cleansing and other uses.

- You can arrive on the night before of the Temazcal and/or stay the night after. The cost per night is €15,- pp. Please let me know if you are interested (there are only 5 beds available).
