Over dit evenement
Intimate Ropes is a conceptual workshop exploring intimacy in rope through familiarity, curiosity, and interaction rather than predefined outcomes or explicit sexuality. While sexuality may be present, this workshop is not about escalation or performance. It is about becoming familiar with one another through rope — and allowing that familiarity to emerge, shift, or remain.
We approach intimacy not as something to be achieved, deepened, or maximized, but as something that can be entered repeatedly, without assumptions about who the other person is, how they will respond, or what “more” should look like.
Some perviness will absolutely be involved. And it is highly encouraged.
What we’ll explore
Rather than teaching patterns to copy, this workshop focuses on decision-making:
• Why are we choosing to touch here?
• Why this distance, this pace, this exposure?
• What are we expressing — and how is that being received?
Participants are invited to treat rope as a dialogue. This may look like offering an intention (“I want to try this — how does that land?”), noticing a response without needing to label or explain it, or allowing surprise to exist without trying to correct it.
The workshop includes multiple exercises:
• Three patternless exercises, open to creative interpretation
• One structured pattern, used as a shared reference point
exercises can also be added if the progression during the workshop is suitable!
We will play with themes of shame, exposure, and vulnerability — not as goals to overcome, but as possible languages of intimacy. These elements may communicate differently from one moment to the next, even with the same partner.
What this workshop is (and isn’t)
This workshop is:
• About becoming familiar, not necessarily more intimate
• About interaction, not interpretation or “reading” your partner
• About curiosity, not certainty
It is not about:
• Reproducing specific aesthetics or reactions
• Assuming continuity from previous scenes
• Pushing intimacy “deeper” for its own sake
Each tying is treated as a unique point in space and time.
Before the workshop
We strongly recommend discussing the following with your partner beforehand:
• What intimacy currently means to each of you
• Whether this is something you both genuinely want to explore
• Comfort levels around:
• Close body contact
• Emotional exposure
• Eye contact
• Touching and exposure of the upper body
• Soft and hard limits
Intimacy can exist between friends, partners, and many relationship types.
This workshop may not be suitable for rope partnerships that are strictly technical or intentionally non-emotional.
Requirements
This workshop is aimed at intermediate-level participants.
We expect a solid foundation in:
• Rope safety and basic technique
• Communication and self-awareness
We will spend very little time on how to do things, and much more time on why we choose to do them.
Bring clothes suitable for exposure!
