Tea & Shibari - A Journey Through Polarity
You are invited to experience the art and performance of two beautiful healing practices: Ancient Tea Ceremony and Shibari, on Friday night, February 27th, with Kozy and Leila at LIMINAL in Amsterdam.
The evening will start with some grounding time, where we begin with reflection and meditation within ourselves while sipping tea mindfully in the present moment. (This ceremony will take about 45/60 minutes and is a special experience in itself.) From this inward presence, the space slowly opens into deeper connection, within ourselves and with others, that unfolds into 2 live Shibari performances (4 Artists).
The theme of this edition is “A Journey Through Polarity.” Held in the colder, darker season, while the days are quietly growing longer again, we explore the living tension between opposites: the ancient and the present, stillness and intensity, structure and surrender, holding and letting go. Through this dance, we are invited to return home to the body and to the deeper intelligence that lives beneath all doing.
Through the grounding ritual of TEA, we arrive in presence.
Through the art of SHIBARI, we meet tension, trust, and release.
Together, we journey through polarity, and back into ourselves, into each other, into quietness within.

What to expect
We begin with the ancient Tea Ceremony (Cha Tao, “The Way of Nature through Tea”), a devotional art practiced for thousands of years and rooted in Chinese tradition. Leila and the tea serving team will serve each of you many rounds of seasonal premium teas, and guide you through a meditation that cultivates presence, fluidity, and balance. Each sip becomes a prayer, awakening the senses, opening the heart, and softening the space between inner stillness and shared presence.
The evening then flows into the Art of Shibari, a rope practice originally rooted from Japan, that explores both physical form and emotional depth. Shibari invites us into the embodied experience of Polarity: tension and release, control and surrender, intensity and softness. It is a living art form, sensual, creative, and profoundly connective, mirroring the dynamic forces that move through life and relationships.
To honour the theme “A Journey Through Polarity,” we will share 2 Shibari performances with 4 live Artists in total, each telling its own story through relational tension, trust, and the moment of release. Both performances will be paired with a specially chosen seasonal tea, deepening the resonance of the moment and weaving the evening into a complete and embodied experience.

Leila considers herself an Artist of Life who’s passionate about tea, plant medicines and healing arts, in harmony with the ancient wisdom of the Tao/The Way of Nature and Tantra. She hosts a variety of Tea and Plant Medicine Ceremonies, often combined with embodiment practices to bring us back to what truly matters in our body and soul. She is also a facilitator in the field of Sensuality, Tantra and Shadow Work, sharing her gifts in creating sacred spaces and working with life force energies through Tantric Bodywork and Tantric Temple Gatherings. She is committed to help integrate those profound ancient wisdom into a mindful and balanced daily lifestyle.
